Thank everyone for the information on the Port. I had chemo this morning and it may be my last for awhile - If it's God's will forever.
My veins are very good so I'll see what Dr. says.

My husband and I went to La., Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee and just got back yesterday.

I hope everyone has been feeling good.

I pray for you guys nightly.

After 3rd chemo CA 125 is at 12. I've had 2 since then. Thank you Lord.

When I worry I have discovered I'm "minding God's business." :)

    I hope you enjoyed all those places. I know I would. I m so glad all is well. I pray for your continued good news! I finally got a picture here. It took me a while to figure it out. Must be the chemo brain. It is so nice to see who everyone is.

    Time to celebrate
    Last chemo on this round is a reason to celebrate as soon as you feel like it. Glad you got to take a trip. That does wonders for my outlook. I do like your attitude toward "worry".

    good morning-I'm new!
    I am about to begin 12 months of maintenance chemo-in the meantime have had a positive BRCA2 results and and now facing radical mastectomy! Looking for info and support!

    Hi Barb,
    It sounds like you had a nice trip, my husband and I want to go out west in July or August. I all depends on what I'm up against. I want to see if I can take an anti estrogen pill like Saundra and Sue, hopefully that will keep things stable for awhile so I can enjoy myself.

    Congrats!! on your low ca 125, may it continue to stay down forever. God is Great!!

    I did the testing also and was negative - but I would have done the mastectomy immediately. My oncologist explained that it was a preventable cancer - I just thought about it, read about it and decided. It is such a personal decision. I personally don't have that great of attachment to my breasts - they don't make me feel like a woman one way or another. They've just always been there.

    Anti estrogen
    Terry, the anti estrogen only brought my CA125 down for one month and then slowly inched back up.
    It may have been holding the growth to slow for 7 months but not working like chemo for me. It is expensive (About $300/month here). Well, I thought that was expensive until a close friend with leukemia picked up her prescription and it was $4000 for one month. I may have had the slow growth without the pill. Will never know. Saundra

    Lots of information
    Slide over to the Breast Cancer specific discussion board--I'm a regular over there--two instances of BC, one in each breast--unconnected.

    I've undergone testing for the BRCA gene, and came over here to read some of your stories.

    There are lots of discussion threads that you can read--and people are great about answering questions.

    I'd imagine you would have bilateral mastectomies--maybe with immediate reconstruction. They usually don't take any muscle--which is what they did in the old "radical" mastectomies.

    I had bilateral mastectomies, immediate DIEP flap reconstruction. (They made me new breasts out of my tummy fat--perky breasts and a flat tummy!) I'm seven weeks out of surgery, and very happy with my decision.

    My chance of another breast cancer is 3%--I do have some breast tissue left, but it is right on the skin, so any breast cancer could be seen easily--no more mammograms!
