question/what happens when stop taking AIs?

I have not asked my oncologist this yet, but maybe someone knows: so what happens when you stop taking aromatase inhibitors in 5 years (or it's probably going to be 10 years with recent research). I mean, how do they keep the estrogen out of your body, and as far as side effects, do they all go away?

If anyone knows, please tell me. I've been wondering.
