definantly more cancer. the doctor called about the pet scan and said significant progression but that we have to wait for the ct scan on monday to look at both. said surgery not an option radiation not an option only chemo. I just got off of carbo /taxol end of october. I have been on the avastin clinical trial all this time guess they will take me off that now and let me know if I was on the real drug or placebo. and I guess I have still been having an infusion every three weeks so that won't be a shock. my hair is growing real good and my muscles and joints are just starting to get lots better. oh well. guess I am in a little funk right now. God bless , Laura

    sorry to hear the news
I am so sorry to hear about the results. I don't have the same cancer but it's still cancer.
I had a recurrence in July of 2008 almost 1 year after my hysterectomy for uterine cancer.I am now going through chemo carbo/taxol and have 1 treatment left. I have to wait for my ct scan to see if it put me in remission. I hope you have better news next week.

    A big hug for you.

    (((((Laura)))))
We all fear recurrance and more chemo, and when it happens I'm sure it is devastating at first. I have my 6th and final round of chemo later this month, to be followed by 8 weeks of radiation, and then I am praying for a long long break (HECK! I'm praying for a CURE!!), so I can imagine all too easily how you must feel now, today, to have your remission cut short. (((((Laura))))) I'm so sorry.

Take some time to get over the shock and disappointment, and find a way to deal with it. Just remember how strong you are, a tested warrior. You've fought this battle before and you can do it again.

Hair isn't everything. And it'll grow back again when this new battle is over. BIG HUGS of compassion.

Dearest Laura, I am so sorry to hear your news, and understand going to the funky place for a bit. You are resilient and will bounce back out as the fight mode kicks back in. I am a 6yr survivor and only because of chemos, and hope to be here for awhile yet. It sounds aweful but the muscle and joint stuff just becomes a norm and living life to fullest becomes the drive. God is with you and will bring you through, and who knows maybe this next chemo will not make you lose your hair. :-) Keep us updated and know you are being lifted in prayer.

    HOPE AND HUGS
    Laura:
I'm sure the news wasn't easy to hear. I'm sorry you're going through this. But I also hope that all these posts are encouraging you and giving you strength. Just focus right now on doing what you know you have control over, such as eating well, getting rest, leaning on your support system, and finding an outlet for your fears and anxieties. Maybe, if you're not already, find a form of exercise. It's great to boost endorphins which will help you 'feel' better, and it strengthens you, too.

Let us know how things are going. We care, and there is a wealth of help and hope here.

    Luv, Hugs, Prayers,

Laura I am sorry about your news. I have a little more cancer too. But they do change chemos so maybe the next will destroy the cancer. I will be praying for you.

    thankyou so much everyone
it means so much to be able to vent and get support like this. It sure does make things not seem so bad. sorry that some of you are also going through the exact same thing. I had my son try to help me put a picture on here last night but when I look it still shows my horse but one of you just comented on my grandaughter. so is the picture I have up with 4 people in it? if so my mom is the one with all the hair and my daughter in law in back and of course me with the chemo cut and my sweet one yearold grandaughter Chloe.. God Bless everyone and lots of Hugs, Laura Ps I'm going to dance in the rain today!!

    My 2 cents
Laura, I too am sorry to read your post. I know it is a disappointment just as I know you will work your way through this bump in the road. The next chemo may be the one that really does the job on your bad cells so this may be a blessing that is just not recognized at the present moment. You will be in my prayers, as all the others that are currently in active battle. ((((Hugs))) Saundra

To see an updated photo, you go to 'View' & hit "Refresh'.
I took me ages to figure out that I had to go to 'View' and hit 'Refresh' to see anyone's updated photos. I'd try and change mine and then try it over and over, and finally give up, only to have someone comment on my new photo that I couldn't see. Hope that helps.

    Hi Laura
I am so sorry to hear of the recurrence. I cannot imagine what you are going through as I've not had to deal with that issue as of yet. I hope that you take time to close your eyes, take deep breaths and just be in the moment and know that there are so many of us that are out there thinking of you and your family and hoping that this time around will be the magic that you need.

I, too, love the new photo. You look beautiful.

    Hugs.
