Hi Everyone, this has been a very long week. Thought I wasn't getting sick from this time only to run 103.1 fever by Thursday night, then Friday started other colon/rectal problems and continued through Saturday. Oh what a body goes through to survive both the cancer and treatment. :-) Anyway I have managed to keep up with all your posts and glad to read so many success stories.

Sandy, you have the highest ca125 than anyone I know and believe I have met a lot women with this disease fighting it ongoing like we do. Not sure one wants an award for highest CA125 but to have little disease as I believe you said and such a high number is just so unreal. I am the opposite of you, can have a ca125 of 6 and have lots of measurable disease. Not sure why my number runs so low but has since the surgery and then even more so after the avastin. I think the avastin has something to do with it.

Anyway just wanted to post an update, I get next this week off chemo as all my counts are way too low, which ironically is good as I have been dealing with bowel issues(blockage) and don't need any help from the meds to keep them from moving. Prayers ♥ Hugs Bonnie

    Sorry to hear you can't have your chemo, Bonnie. But it sounds as though you're okay with that and hopefully it will ease up the bowel issues. That's downright miserable - I remember those days all too well.

    And as always, you're finding the positive in everything. I thank the Lord you have Him in your life, because we both know (as many of us do) that there's just no way through this without Him. Continue to lift your eyes up, 'Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.'

    Sorry to hear you were so sick. It reminded me of 6 months after surgery and my intestine twisted upon itself and I had to have surgery again! At least you and your doctors are on top of it.
    I will continue to pray that you will be healthier each day.

    This week will go better
    Hello, Bonnie, I hope you are feeling a bit more sassy this week than last after your chemo and everything is moving on down. LOL

    Would you believe that we are having temperatures in the 90's this week? All of the trees are budding and for sure we will have another freeze. That will keep them confused sort of like we OVCA's.

    Stay warm by your lovely fireplace. Yours house looks so cozy to curl up in a quilt in. I love your pictures on the Caring Bridge site..

    Hoping For A Better Week
    Hi Bonnie It sounds like you had a terrible week. Fever, bowel issues and no chemo. I'm praying that this week will be much better for you. My chemo was put off till next Monday due to a low WBC. It's my last one for now, they are giving me a break.I get a ct scan March 4th, My ca125 still remains at 34 after 13 non stop chemos.
    I'm always thinking of you the "Chick that Sticks".Sue out did herself with that one.

    She did get the chemo!

    Just a hug for one of my favorites: ((((((Bonnie))))))
    Nothing is as miserable as bowel issues, you poor thing. The extra weeks when you can't get chemo can be a blessing, even though I usually cry when I get to the car when my counts are too low. But then a week of giving your body a rest is really so very nice, too. I see my oncologist tomorrow to make a plan to somehow get 1 more round of chemo into me and then switch to radiation. The adventure continues.

    I just wanted to give you a hug and hope you feel better soon. ((((Bonnie))))

    So no chemo this week, next week is my scheduled week off and my appt with gyn/onc and go from there.

    Our dearest Bonnie.........That quote you wrote at the beginning of this topic was just beautiful and the tears just came. I don't' know how you do it, but I'm so glad that you do because you have taught all of us what it means to fight this thing. I honestly do not think I would be able to keep going and going - I'm too selfish. Your spirit is bright though and it shines on all of us. I hope the rest of the week continues to get better and know that everyone is rooting for you as always.

    The nickname has really taken for you, hasn't it?

    Is there any chance you could have chemo next week (not that you wouldn't want the week off)?

    I'll be praying that you'll get some good news from your appointment. Your CA-125 shows how unreliable the test is.

    I've got a really old set of medical books (Keen's Surgery, ca. 1918), and it's interesting to read what they thought about ovarian cancer at that time. It seems it was considered a metasis of stomach cancer for the most part.

    We've come so far, but there's so far to go, and you're my hero on the front lines.

    Hi Sue,

    Yes the name stuck, thanks for starting something♥♥LOL

    I know lots of women died from what was thought to be stomach cancer all the way into the 80's I think. If my memory is working.

    No chemo next week, it is just labs and dr appt and that is okay with me. I did read the ct scan report from MOnday, they did one because of the blockage. One of the tumors on my liver has grown, one of the tumors in my pelvic has grown but the rest are about the same size. So not too bad of news, now we'll see what my ca125 is at on Thursday,

    Hi Bonnie,

    So sorry to hear how sick you've been with the high fever and bowel problems! Do you ever get severe gas pains? Your CT scan sounded fairly good, like you said. I'll have to wait until Monday to find out if I get chemo next week too. The Topotecan has been taking my WBC down to almost zero, as I'm sure you remember when you were on it.     Just catching up on everyone's posts. Sorry you were so sick................hope this week is better for you.

    You are so right, what the body can go through, and with all these different CA125 numbers, etc. we know that we are definitely each "wonderfully made". God makes us each with different amounts of lymph nodes, different CA125 numbers mean different measures for each of us, and some of us have a grocery list of things removed and some just one or two things. None of us are alike.
