God's morning to all! Sun is suppose to shine and temps are suppose to warm up today.

Yesterday my labs showed my platelets are still very low, crept up to 50's, and so are the rest of my counts. Not sure what it will take to get my system working again.

NOW my medicare Rant...so skip this part if you like :-)

Yesterday when I got home I had an EOB from senior gold showing me all the claims medicare has denied. So I went out to the medicare website and sure enough all of the July/Aug bills are denied. I called medicare and actually got a very nice helpful person. Anyway she said they don't pay anything on the bill because my primary insurance didn't either. I explained my primary insurance was maxed. UGH Here we go again, will this ever get completely taken care of. Because the date of Sept 5th for Randy's insurance terminating and the bills being in July/Aug she said they won't be covered. I explained the situation and was referred to a specialist, who is suppose to call me back in 72 hours. Ladies there are alot of unpaid bills and I have put way more energy into this than my mind or body or can take.

I understand what they are saying about not covering because they weren't my primary and when primary doesn't cover they don't cover but there has to be some exceptions. She also said if this isn't resolved maybe SHIP could help me. So now I have to look who ship is? What a mess we have here still.

Well that's it for now, need more coffee and visit with Randy. He is home this week as he is serving on a jury. Love ya all Bonnie

    Rant On
Ranting is good for me when I have the energy. Then I have to let it go and let God. You don't need this added bother. Luke 18:7-8 "And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly."

    Bonnie,
I feel your pain we have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they cna't even keep me right in the system. They have denied us before because they said I had secondary ins. ( Never have). They have had my name in incorrectly on on and on, it is very time consuming and tiring trying to staighten it all out. But other than that I am feeling great, I am off chemo hopefully until mid Jan. so I am very excited.
I pray all of your numbers (except Ca-125) begin to rise and you can continue.

Love and God Bless You, Jan

Hi Bonnie, so sorry your platelets are low. Your such an inspiration to this site, a "Warrior" fighting and never giving up. I will send you some platelets thru the air...Maybe if all are sisters do this you will spring back.I hope they get your insurance figured out so that you won't be under so much stress.

    SO TYPICAL
Bonnie, I can't believe you have to deal with this insurance issue too, on top of everything else. On the other hand, I do believe it, because my husband has experienced the same issues. We were told we had to switch his Medicare to Primary, Blue Cross secondary. So, it works the other way around for us - what Medicare doesn't pay, Blue Cross won't either. Isn't that ludicrous? You pay for two insurances so you'll be taken care of, no matter what. Aside from certain exclusions, it doesn't make sense that just because one doesn't pay the other one won't. We were under the assumption (apparently we were advised incorrectly), that whatever one doesn't pick up, the other will take up the slack.

Well, again I'm sorry you must deal with this. It's horrible, and unforgiveable that patients need to deal with this red tape.

Take care, Bonnie. The Lord will sustain you and lift you up. And we will continue to lift you up in prayer also.

    Hugs, and Luv,
    Monika

    Thanks everyone
    God's morning to all!!

Thank you for all the positive words of encouragement, and sharing of the insurance stories. :-) Sometimes misery likes to know it is not alone. LOL

I am breathing in all the platelets coming thru the air, Thanks for the visual Terry. Also every day I continue to take in deep breaths of faith and try to breathe out the anxieties. So Saundra thanks for the verse. Hugs ♥ Prayers to all.

    In His Grip
    Bonnie,

I too am sorry to hear about the insurance. Praying your counts will be where they need to be.

In our Bible study on Beth Moores' Living Beyond Yourself one of our Treasures comes from 2 Cor. 1:21-22, "Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come."

How wonderful to know that no matter what goes on in this world, we as believers, are SEALED by the Holy Spirit. We are protected and identified as joint heirs with Christ.

I pray you feel His presence as you go through difficulties and know we all love you.

    In His Grip,
    Libby

    we were posting together
Hey Monika, I was writing a post and went for coffee and when I got back and posted, there was your new post too. Thanks for sharing and the verse too.

I have the same insurance now too, medicare primary and bc/bs secondary. I found out after I got it that if medicare doesn't pay then bc/bs doesn't either. I think its not explained very well. So that is how medicare is looking at the bills from July/Aug then Randy's insurance was primary(even though it was maxed)and because they didn't pay medicare won't pay. But I think somehow this shouldn't count as a non payment. The only reason they didn't pay was because there wasn't any money for them to pay, if only his insurance would have used service dates to terminate me but NO they had to use paid date. The bill for july 23rd was paid on Sept 5 so all the outstanding bills between the 2 dates are just sitting there with no one wanting to pay on them.

Sorry wrote a book, didn't mean to write a book.

☻ Happy Halloween everyone, may you get more treats today then tricks. ☻

Hi, Bonnie. I agree with all of the girls and you about this nightmarish problem of insurance companies!!!! I remember hearing Obama say that while battling ovarian cancer, his mother had to spend all of her energy worrying about medical bills! Have you thought of going to the media? At least your blood counts are 'inching up'......maybe they are getting prepared to jump!!! With much love and many hugs, MM

    insurance
    Bonnie -

Is there a social worker at the hospital or clinic that you go to that would be willing to work through the insurance nightmare for you? I would tell people last year that just keeping the insurance stuff straight was a full time job - and if you aren't feeling great it's taking valuable strength away from you. You don't need this on top of everything else.

I will say I'm grateful that I don't have the 2 insurance thing going on - but my parents do so I can imagine.

I loved your last post - you make me smile even when I'm wanting to scream for you that it's all just so unfair. You are an amazing woman.

Take care and let us know what happens and vent away. That's what we are here for.

    Hugs. Kris

    ;-) You're such a sweetheart!
    Hi Bonnie,

Kris is so right about asking about an advocate from the hospital-they want their money, and the advocate should know how to get it from the insurance company or medicare.

I'll send some platlets through the air to you, too! My blood donations were cut down by my cancer, something I've regretted. I'll send a lot of joy, too! We've had a truly lovely fall, and I spent time out in our woods today with my dog and one of our cats. We all had a good time.

Your positive attitude is such a good thing for us, and I know you'll come through this in a good way.

you know ive been reading your comments to people and i find that you're really a source of inspiration to me. even though you're going through a tough time right now..i feel like you never forget to smile..and i guess you just remind me of my mom. it seems im more affected by her current situation than herself..it's really hard to just "let it go" because my mom is my world as i am hers..im her only child and it's really hard to know that im the only one who really is going through this because i dont have any brothers/sisters to deal with the same situation...and honestly im scared to be alone..i only function ok when im surrounded by people..i dunno what to do..so hopefully this discussion forum can help me..and i also hope and pray for your fast recovery..keep on smiling!
