Smiles - what is your name? You don't have to say - I just wonder every time I see you post. It would seem to me that your sister cannot possibly get past her shock & trauma of being diagnosed until she is able to admit she has cancer. SHE HAS CANCER. The statistics for ovarian cancer aren't great - but there are things to do, treatments to try, options to let you live. What won't work is doing nothing.

I am not a twin - but I have a younger sister who has stood right by me through all of this - and it affects every one in your family. The diagnosis itself is life changing. If your sister will not get help for herself then I think that you could at least educate yourself about the disease, maybe seek out a support group for caretakers, get some anti-anxiety meds for yourself - at least talk to your family physician about your concern. You need to take care of yourself to be able to take care of her.

I am a 14 month stage IIIC survivor and I have a hard time worrying about everything - and I've been done with treatment now for 8 months - but my anxiety remains high. If I never knew I had cancer how do I know that every ache, pain, whatever doesn't mean I am having a recurrence? This support site is so helpful and I've learned so much and the women are so amazing. Do you think your sister would at least look at some of the posts on here? There is hope - but you have to take action and get your treatment and let people assist you. You just do.

I hope you continue to find comfort here and I look forward to hearing how things are going. You are close in my thoughts. Hang in there!! Kris

You need to have some support for yourself.
I know you said your parents don't know but, could they help? Maybe help you and her?
You may need to do an intervention of sorts. She sounds like she is still in shock.
I know she is scared. For most of us, me included the thought of dying scares the hell out of us. And now it is knocking on our door! It's not her time yet unless she wants it to be or does nothing and lets it be. Unfortunately you cannot control her. So make sure that you take care of and have support for yourself.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both...
