The homecare nurse comes by every week or two to check my fathers blood pressure and oxygen level.

He has stage 4 colon cancer (with spread to Lungs and liver)

Every time she checks his oxygen level or listens to the lungs she says: "Yup - nothing wrong with your lungs at all!!"

It's driving me nuts.
Is the oxygen level an indication of ANYthing?
( ... his is 97%)

Yes, it means the heart is getting oxygenated blood to send out to all parts of his body for them to work right (especially the brain...lol)!

This is one check that is always done on my beau....he has heart failure...we cheer everytime it comes in at above 96!!!

    Hugs, Kathi

Kathi pretty much hit the nail on the head..Also, low oxygen level can cause fatigue, and in some cases respiratory distress. Also , I'm sure they want to be sure he doesn't have an infection, such as pneumonia, to be sure his lungs are clear. If he is bedridden, pneumonia can set in quicker .
    God Bless
