My CEA is rising again so I'm going to take more Xeloda. I'll be taking 3 in the morning and 2 at night. I haven't had any side effect yet but my onc wants me to call him ASAP once they start. Oh well life goes on. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

    Sue,

Sorry to hear about your CEA rising again. Do you mind if I ask what your levels have been at?

My hubby was dx'ed stage 4 in Jan 05, had 2 surgery's did 9 treatments of 5FU. He has a permanent illostomy, because they had to remove almost all of his colon, they also had to remove most of his cutain as well because of a lot of seedlings. There were no tumors on the liver or lungs. His scans have been clear up till now. Then in Novemeber his CEA level went from 1.9 (was constant through out) to 7.9. He just had a Pet scan which we will get the results of on Friday.

This waiting for answers has me tied in knots. I know in all probability that the beast has returned.

My prayers are with you as you once again take up the fight!

Merry Christmas and all the best in the coming year!

My CEA has been a marker for me and it sounds like also for your husband. Mine have been at 0 right after the 1st chemo. But haven't been down to zero in over a year but they have called me NED when I was down below 5. Nothing showed on the CT scan but we are still taking the Xeloda. Hope all goes well with your husband PETs and nothing comes of it. My prayers are with him.

    Sue,

I'm sorry. Hopefully, the chemo will start working and you won't have many side effects. My thoughts are with you and your family. Have a wonderful Christmas.
