Hi All,

Just a brief history - Stage IV - multiple surgeries, a couple of different chemo's, etc. I was NED since January 2007 but my recent scans in mid-October showed a lesion in my upper left lung. After meeting with the surgeon and radiologist, I've decided to have a lung RFA (radiofrequency ablation). The radiologist gave me a 100% success rate. You can't beat those odds and the procedure is so much less invasive. I will be having this on December 19th. I guess I need to get busy and get all my shopping done. I haven't bought one thing yet. I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Take care,

Debbie

    Hi Debbie
Your story is remarkable, you've been through so much and still going strong. It makes me feel so much better to know there are so many treatments out there. Please keep us updated with your procedure. I'll be thinking of you on the 19th. Good luck!

My husband is a stage 3 rectal cancer survivor. Diagnosed 01-06. He had Radiation, chemo surgery May 06 lower resection, and then 4 months of chemo because of lymph node involvement. 3 month pet scans since end of chemo 10-06. Just had a pet on 11-27. We will get results on 12-11 when he sees his doctor. Very stressful!!! He feels great and looks terrific. I pray that he will still be NED. Go get that shopping done!

    Valley,
If you want the results sooner than that, you should be able to call the doctors office, talk to the nurse, and get them. I could NEVER wait that long to get my results. I am always on the phone w/in 48 hours for my results - which I have always gotten over the phone even when the news was not good. Lately, luckily the news has been good and I trust it will be the same for your husband. Just thought you'd like to know, they are on the computer as soon as the scan is done and your doc or nurse can look at the preliminary report.

I agree with Susan--no way should you have to wait so long for results. My husband is scheduled in the morning for his CT and then we have Oncologist appt. and he gives us the preliminary report and then we go to chemo--quite a full day, but makes the trip worthwhile and reduces anxiety wondering. Good luck!
