I see my onc this Thurs, and still trying to find out if anyone has experienced blood clots or intermittent claudication in the calves. Pain starts in calf after walking and goes away when resting, except for muscle soreness, which seams to stay. I really don't want to stop taking the Femara, but I am a bit concerned.
Anyone else have the same problem????

Hi Toni, I have been taking Femara for 2 years. My Onco wants me to stay on it. I have not had any problems that I can be sure are caused from the Femara. I notice that my legs ache a lot but I also need a knee replacement so I attribute the aches to the knee problem. I have had a lot of cramps but they do not hit me after walking. Usually hit me when I am at rest. This is not much help in answering your question but I will take special notice of cramps and get back with you in a few. Nancy

    Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the response. Saw the Oncologist today. Didn't even bat an eye, before saying it is the Femara. I do have claudication, and it is probably making it worse. He is taking me off it for 3 weeks, then will decide whether to go back on it or another of the Aromisan drugs. He did suggest that taking aspirin is a very good idea. The legs are horrid after walking, and the pain in the leg afterward is better but the muscles feel very sore, and my feet burn.

I look forward to hearing from you again.

    Hey Toni,
I have gone through almost all of the different meds... I found that femara was the worst for me. My feet and legs hurt and my feet stay swollen. I have been on the drugs for about 1 1/2 years... I stopped two time for about 3 weeks one time and 2 weeks another time and it all clears up ... so it is clearly the drugs... I am still taking them and just dealing with the pain. For me I find out that I am better the more active I stay... I have even taking up dancing (shag... it is our S.C. State Dance). I found out that my feet hurt whether I am active or not.. and I think may actually feel better the more active I am.

I hope you will find relief....

    Take Care... God Bless...
