I'm fairly new to this site. My husband was dx right before Christmas and had colon resection. He has liver mets so is stage IV and we go to our first consult with oncologist tomorrow about chemo and options . I'm getting worn out with worry already, but trying to keep spirits up. It's hard as I'm sure you all know. Just would like to ask that you keep us in your prayers. I know it's going to be a long road, and I'm praying for strength for all of us who have to do it. It helps reading others posts so I know I'm not "alone" on this journey. God Bless.

My husband has Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the Parotid. I've read a lot on the CSN pages,it really does help.I know what you mean about worry. You have to take care of yourself in order to help him.Your not alone, keep your spirits up too.

I too am new to this site. My husband has prostate cancer that has metastized to his bones. His Medical Oncologist has him on all kinds of meds. But the past week he has been very uncomfortable with the pain and restlessness. I try to stay strong for him, but I just can't keep from crying. I try not for him to see me crying, but it gets real hard. It's just so sad seeing this man who has always been so strong for me just going down hill. When he says "he's sorry" it just breaks my heart. I'd like to keep in touch with you as we travel this journey. I'll keep both of you in my prayers and ask the same. I pray for strength and pray that hubby's pain will lessen. God Bless

What you wrote so hit home when you say your husband says "he's sorry"..mine too and it breaks my heart ..he has stage 4 colorectal with mets to liver/lungs...somsetimes I can;t begin to fathom what our loved ones go through and other times I can't understand where our strength as caregivers comes from. I am really surprised this "caregivers" board is not more active becasue I know there are oh so many of us out there.
God bless

You are so right Bev. There are times when I feel like I'm falling apart inside , but there is an inner strength that takes over and pushes me on. It so reminds me of that beautiful writing , "footprints" . I think God is carrying us.

Maybe this sie is not more active as many have not found the time. We get so wrapped up in caring for oour loved ones that we forget to tale for ourselves. During my daughters fight, I found strength that I know, only came from the thoughts and prayers of friends and family around the world. She felt that strength too and it helped her win her battle.

Hi jams. I'm sorry your going through this too. I'd like to keep in touch too. We try to be strong for our spouses and we really do need to be , but we need support from each other because only we know how it feels to be the other half dealing with this. Prayers are with you and your husband.

Hi All - we had a rough week. My husband's PSA keeps going up again. Dr. wanted to change meds, however, the one he prescribed cost $8000/month with our co-pay being $1600/month. We knew that wouldn't work for us. So with a lot of calling around it was discovered that our own mail in prescriptin plan would supply the medicine for our regular co-pay of $12.00. The prescription world is so full of wonders. Oh well, he will start the new meds Saturday and we're praying that he will get some (we'd hope for a lot) but some relief from the pain/discomfort. One day at a time! God Bless to All

Dearest survivor - because you are & all will be - LAUGH!!! Find humor in all, any, and everything!!! During my husband's recovery (he was inoperable stage IV tonsil cancer) he put "BRIAN'S SONG" on t.v. I almost hit him. Sometime when your husband apologizes just tell him that you now get that long awaited "whatever" that you've wanted. BEAT THIS WITH HUMOR!!!! Keep your chin up and laugh!!! God bless!
