Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all enjoying a great weekend!
I have been having pain in my right hip. I had x-rays taken Thursday and will get the results Monday when I go for chemo. I have been trying to keep busy with my kids and grandkids this weekend, but the waiting is getting to me. It took me a week to go for the x-rays because I wasn't really sure that I wanted to find out. I feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster. Every time things settle down something else comes up that throws me. I keep telling myself that it's probably nothing and that there's no reason to worry until I have the results. Of course, that's easier said than done!
Thanks for listening. Sometimes I just need to vent and this site is a great, supportive place to do that!
Take care,
Jamie

Only one more day of waiting Jamie. I really hope you get good news. As in it's not connected to the csncer and is something easily treated.

I know what you mean about things settling down and then another thing comes up. The pain in the right hip could mean anything. You can vent any time. I vent all the time. Last year I had tremendous pain in the right pelvic area. The MRI showed an insufficiency fracture. Although because of the hx. of colon cancer I feel we are all targeted and that is the key concern of what they look for. Well it turned out to be this insufficiency fracture of the right sacral ala which was confrimed with a follow up pet scan.
It ended up healing on its own. Don't worry you will be fine. Any new pain is very scary. Right now my back is out with spasms. I am waiting to find out now what all these DRS. are going to do.

Pain could be weather related or something else not even remotely associated to colon cancer. There is a difference between whining and complaining pleasantly. Hope you find out first thing in the morning. Let us know. jams

    Hi Jamie -

Venting is what this place is all about. This disease sucks, but your hip pain is probably unrelated ("old lady hip" as Kathi M once suggested?).

I'll be hoping for good news for you and thinking about you tomorrow.

    Take care,
    Betsy

I was just reminded, too, of how wonderful it is to have a place to vent that you won't have people moving away from you, calling the men with the wraparound coats.

I had a pain in my right hip, 2 months after my surgery for the bowel resection. It turned out to be nothing more than a deep muscle pull (my primary care is also an accupressurist). He found it by pressing all the know places, and when I said "Stop that", he came with the treatment of massage and tylenol. Went away within 2 weeks. I needed to have validation, tho, because that mean old BEAST messes with my head, as well as my body. NEVER just write offsomething as being insignificant!!!

    Hugs, Kathi
