Hi everyone,

I haven't really been on this site for a couple of weeks. My computer is not working very well and I think we will need to either get it fixed, or buy a new one. Also, my family has been sick with colds and the flu. I haven't felt too well myself (I am three months pregnant for those of you who don't know). Anyway, I've been trying to catch up on all of the recent posts and it seems like so much has happened. There are also some new members on the site, I see. I've really missed you guys and hope you are all doing well. You are all in my prayers every night.

My dad has been doing pretty well. He's happy to be off of chemo, although he continues to experience side effects from it. He has gained some weight back, however, he's going back to his old diet habits. I am taking him to a naturopathic doctor tomorrow. He's not thrilled about going at all and doesn't quite understand why he is going, but said he'll go. Hopefully, it will go well. I did consider dropping the whole naturopathic thing and just letting him live his life, but I really feel that he should go and at least hear what the ND has to say. I think it is a good idea to try it. I'll keep you all posted.

God bless you all,

-Lee-

    Hey Lee,

Good to hear from you again. I so admire what you are trying to do for your Dad, BUT, you can lead a horse to water but you can not make it drink. If he choses to go back to his diet and lifestyle then you have to accept the fact that he could very well get sick again and you did everything you could.

You can not feel guilty for someone else not taking care of themselves after you have made the effort to show them otherwise.

Try to take care of you and that youngun you got growing. That is so exciting, maybe that will spark your Dad to trying to do more for himself.

    Lee,
It's good to hear from you again. I don't remember knowing about your pregnancy. I'm very happy for you.
Re your dad. I agree with Scouty. It is his choice. I also agree with your choice to at least have him hear what the naturopath has to say. Maybe he'll come away with some new thoughts on how to treat this.

    Hi Lee!

Wow! Exciting and Happy news to hear on this board. Congrats!!! You might use this as leverage to get your dad to at least try to change? Just a thought. I had trouble getting my dad to change bad habits. They are just stuck in their ways sometimes. Trying to use what happened to my dad to get my hubby to stop smoking. Obviously the "I'll come back and haunt you if I get lung cancer" is not working. LOL. HUGS and glad to get the update on you. Try to drink lots of juice so you don't get sick being prego and all.

HI Lee I was wondering how you and your dad are doing. Congratulations on your pregnancy too.
My dad is off chemo too. He could not tolerate it. And yet I am still trying to coax him on his diet thing too. Would love to hear how the naturopathic doctor visit goes. Keep us posted.
