Hello. My mother just completed her second stem cell transplant a month ago at the institute in Arkansas. A few days after she returned home, she started having serious trouble breathing and pains when she walked. After going to the hospital, she discovered she had several clots in her lungs and both of her legs. I've learned that's a common side effect after surgeries and even stem cell transplants. But I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. If so, how long did it take for the blood clots to clear and breathing to return to normal? Thank you.

Hello,

You may want to do a search of the CSN website to look to see if others have had this experience. You can enter the word "clot" or "blood clot" in the search bar at the top of this page to see what search results you receive. If you find someone you wish to contact, you can do so through the internal CSN email. For more information on all of the CSN features, click on the "Help" link at the top of this page.

I hope you mother is doing well.

Take care,

Dana
