Greetings to all. I have taken time over the past few days to read the various threads, the words of optimism, to witness the support and view the exchange of experiences. Warmed my heart. I am a 46-year old newlywed and mother of a 10-year old angel daughter. I was diagnosed with IIIB NSCLC on 6/14. Since then, as you can imagine, I have been scanned, poked and scoped silly while attempting to keep my head from spinning completely off my shoulders. So many questions, so many emotions. Just had my porta-cath inserted on Monday and will start my radiation tomorrow (5xweek) which will be coupled with chemo once a week. I have siginificant lymphatic involvement and a large tumor in the right upper lobe that nearly blocks the right bronchial tube. I must say, I have nearly been worn down by the diagnostics alone -- pain management has become an issue (even harder to breathe when every breath causes pain), but, I'll get that situated shortly.
