I have been taking tamoxifen since July 2004. I have about 10 pounds on me that I would like to take off. I saw the ads on tv for Relacore to take off belly fat. That is exactly what I have. Has anyone used Relacore? I wonder if it would be safe to take while I am taking the tamoxifen.

I wouldn't without talking to your doctor. Tamoxifen is metabolized in the liver and so are many other drugs. I found the best way to lose excess weight and improve my survival chances was to change my diet and exercise for an hour a day. For ideas on how to change your diet, I found Diana Dyer's website and book helpful. Her website is: www.cancerrd.com.

    Good luck.

    Hugs.

Please check with your Doctor. I haven't tried Relacore. But I have managed to loose all of the weight that I gained during treatment and even some that I gained before I was diagnosed. It really came down to eating a healty diet (lots of fruits &vegs, watching the quanitity, and even letting myself have small deserts). I teamed this with going to the gym 3 times a week and walking about 1 mile on other days. It worked wonders for me. I have lost a total of 22 pounds and kept them off.

    Hope you have luck.

    Congrats, SUSAN!!!!
I was on the "chemo diet"..I lost alot during my colorectal cancer treatment. More during my breast cancer treatment (I'm just a softie...sniff).
But, thru good eating (a MUST with my new plumbing) and exercise, I was able to keep the excess weight (15 lbs over before first cancer) off, and I feel grrrrrreat!

We'd all like to believe there's a pill out there that would do the trick without hurting us in any way. The truth is, even the adds for Relacore say, "If you use relacore in conjunction with proper diet and exercise, within two or three weeks, you should notice a visible reduction in your belly fat." My experience has been that if we all ate a "proper diet" and exercised regularly, we'd lose the fat without pills. Relacore is a mood elevator. Don't take it without getting clearance from your doctor. It's simply not worth the risk.
