Meds for bone pain

I have had bone pain now for 5 months. I finished my chemo in April and finished radiation in June. All bone scans and MRI's have been clear. I have neuropathy in my hands and feet and bone pain in my hips, elbows and upper thigh. I've been to see a doctor in the pain management clinic at MD Anderson. They want to prescribe Cymbalta for the neuropathy and Celebrex for bone pain. Has anybody ever taken these drugs and what have been the side effects? Did they work for you?

Hello,

You may want to contact the American Cancer Society's National Cancer Information Center for more information on these drugs. They can be reached at 1-800-227-2345.

You can also do a search of our website by entering the names of the drugs in the search bar. If you find someone who has had experience with these drugs you can then contact them through the internal CSN email system.

I wish you the best with your new treatment plan.

Take care and be well,

Dana

Hi, I also had the same thing, numbness, tingling and pain. It was to the point where I could not get out of bed. I decided to go to a Rheumatologist to see what was wrong because my pain was extreme. They took test and found it to be clear (MRI) but told me I had Fibromyalgia (pain in the joints and tissues). They were going to perscribe shots and Celebrex but I refused (chemo and radiation was enough for me). Now I go to a physical therapist 3 x a week and it seem to be helping a little. I still have pain(hips, knees, elbows, shoulders) but it isn't as bad as when I first had the pain. Ask your doctor about Fibromyalgia. Your situation might be more than just neuropathy.
