Thank you for replying to my message, This looks like the place I have been looking for.I have a few questions and forgive me but I am totally dumb when it comes to this subject, but doesnt colon cancer normally move to the lungs and liver,of corse the Dr said moms might be in the liver and they just cant see it but the direction it seems to be taking is different (or is it?)plus the Dr say that when they remove it they cant promise that they can put it all back together again with having to remove so many different things. Their talking about having to take out her rectum, colon, vagina, and bladder right now if the chemo and rad do not work like their wanting it to. like I said I know that I dont know alot about this disease so any input is helpful. Hope all is feeling well today and may God bless you all....Lynne

I looked back through the old posts and cannot find your previous one. How long ago did you write. Maybe I just missed it, but can you refresh our memories?
Colon cancer does normally move to the liver, then lungs....but I have heard of it going to the female organs, sacrum, and so on. Each patient is different and not all tumors act in the same manner. Likewise, colon cancer and rectal cancer behave differently. The surgery they are suggesting sounds pretty extreme to me, have you sought out a second opinion at a major cancer center? I don't know where your mother is being treated now.....but I would recommend seeking out a surgeon at MD Anderson, Mayo Clinic, Sloan-Kettering, or Cancer Centers of America, etc.
Best of luck to you and thank you. I hope you find a surgeon who you like and trust.
    Take care, Susan.
