I spent a week at Cape Cod with my in-laws and 2 other couples. I just got back yestday and I am trying to catch up. As soon as I got off the plane in Houston I was cursing this hot, humid, oppressive city. Cape Cod was PERFECT the entire week. My last night we had a bonfire on the beach. A group next to us was having firework displays for about 2 hours - the professional type. My uncle was a fire fighter and he thinks those people spent thousands of bucks. It was the most amazing and beautiful night. It was so clear you could see the milky way in the sky. (sigh)

Congrats to all NEDs buddies!! Good luck to everyone else awaiting NED. Sad to be back to reality, but glad to be with my pals. jana

    Jana,

I was thinking about you and even mentioned to someone that I was going to call you when I got to Houston. Glad you are back and had a wonderful time at the Cape. It is just beautifuil there.

I know what you mean about Houston - yuck, it has been so hot here in Texas. But welcome back.

Welcome back jana! The Cape Cod vacation sounds like it was a little but of heaven. I'm glad you were able to get away. And fireworks with a bonfire on the beach-"outstanding!"

You've got a great New England accent! I'm quite impressed. We flew in/out of Providence, RI. Less accent there. But we did discuss pahking the cah at Harvahd yahd. Hee hee.

Whenever I go to the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT I fly in/out of Providence - did you happen to see that omnipresent Providence icon "The Big Blue Bug"? I swear that's the only town I know that has post cards featuring the rooftop mascot of a local exterminating company...!

Hi jana, Welcome back; living in Massachusetts has given me ample time to enjoy the Cape beaches...pretty magical, and the late afternoon is my favorite time.
We now vacation on a lake in Maine, another great spot, with friends continuing to come at the same time through the years. Being officially NED for a year in July gave this vacation special meaning.
BTW, Rhode Islanders have their own special accent, too, beginning with pronouncing their state name as one word, with the accent on "die", as in rowDIEland! Great beaches in their state, too! Judy
