Are there any young survivors out there that want to talk about anything/everything?Because I dont see any of you in the chat rooms and if you are what times are you out there, just trying to find some people who can relate.

Howdy Dawg, My is Richard in the chat room i go by unibal and i am 23. I had testicular cancer at 19 and i am currently in remission. I usually come into the chat room late at night, or early at morning depending on what time you go to bed. I am very much a night owl, so seeing me in here till 3 am or so is a regular occurence. I havent been in much lately because i have moved to a new city where m internet access is spotty at best but if you send me an email when can arrange a time to meet in there if you would like to chat with someone in your age group.

Hi,Richard thank you for replying to my posting,as you know it is hard to find people in this age group to talk to. I am also a night owl and am on normally anytime between midnight and 5am,so I am sure I will bump into one another one of these nights.I am looking forward to talking to someone who has an idea of what I am going through.
Hi DevilDawg,
Michael here. I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when I was 21. I am now 31, but still on disability from long term side effects. What is your Cancer? What type of treatment are you in?
Hi Micheal, thanks for your reply.I was diagnosed with Nasalpharyngeal Carcinoma(Head and neck Cancer)in Sept.04.I am currently finished with treatment and in the past two months have began the road to recovery, although I am not in remission my tumor has shrunk dramatically and my doctors feel good with the results so far.I am finding it difficult to get things to a new normal, because I know things will never get back to the old normal.I feel drained physcally and mentally and I am finding hard to find the motivation to push myself.I feel like I used all my energy to get this far.Have you expierenced this?I am must admit I am not a patient person, and sometimes I feel like I should be farther along than I am,but on the other hand my friends and family think I am pushing to hard and need to take things slower,I guess I thought once I got through chemo and radiation that things would get easier, but I am starting to realize that their is no easy way to a full recovery.Did you notice a point when things started to become easier?well I could ask a million questions, but thanks again for reply and hope to here from you again.
Hi jacndev,Thank you for your reply. We were diagnosed around the same time, I was diagnosed in (sept.04).How are things going for you do you have side effects from your treatment? What kind of problems are facing trying to get your life back to normal?Do you find the road to recovery as difficult as I do?I would like to hear some of the opstacles you are facing, maybe we could help each other through this challenging time.
Hey everyone, my name is Chris I was diagnosed with Melanoma almost 3 years ago when I was 20. I've been in remission now for about 17 months. I'm not in the chat room really ever, but if anyone ever wants to talk I would be more than happy to do so. Just send me a message and let me know what's a good time for you, I work from 2-11 pm during the week, otherwise I'm around.

hey guys! I'm Michaela and I was dxed with ALL when I was 2 with recurrances at ages 6, 12, 17 and 21. I'm now 22, still in college and would love to chat with anyone. Just shoot me a message!!!:)
Yeah I'm a young survivor, 19 as of Friday! I'm in the chat rooms sometimes but with college and all the school work with that sometimes its hard to know when I'll be in. If you set a time and email me at ambanana@sbcglobal.net I should be more likely to come in.
Hi devildawg. I'm not a survivor-or at least not yet anyway. I've just been told that I have a tumor in my right kidney and truth be told I am scared out of my wits. How did you deal with the news when you first heard? I'm not sure I would call myself young. I'm 30, but you're more than welcome to call me young.lol
Anytime you want to talk, just e-mail me.
