buzzing in my head

Every since I finished chemo (A/C and taxol) I have had a constant buz in my ears, sounds kinda like high tension wires in my head. Just wondering if any one else has had this fun little side effect, and if it ever goes away. My dr. says it's normal, and should get better, but it's been almost 2 yrs since I finished chemo and I'm still buzzing as strong as ever. Most of the time I don't notice it unless I think about it, or it gets quiet, but sometimes it drives me absolutley nuts. I know we have a lot worse problems than this, but I'm just curious if it will ever go away. I've never heard anyone else talk about "the buz". God bless you all, Jud

hey Jk- long time no see. I haven't had the buzzing, but I'll ask around to see if anyone else can help. Hugs and prayers.

Jud, it is called tinnitus and I had it throughout chemotherapy and for quite a while thereafter. I do not recall it going away, but think it must have, because when it was necessary to go back on chemotherapy a year and a half later, the tinnitus came back. I wasn't certain whether it was related to the medications or to the implanted mediport. Mine seems to be not at all apparent sometimes and quite buzzy especially in late evening. The concept of normal is lost upon me at this point, but at least it is not one of those things where the Dr stares into your face blankly as if this was the very first time anyone ever mentioned any such thing.
    Hugs,
    Denise

Hey Newboobs, how are you? I don't get here much anymore. I do try and keep up with the postings, but I never have time to chat. Do you still keep in touch with Virg? Good to see you! Denise, I agree with you on the concept of normal, gave up on that along time ago, but these high tension wires in my brain just got to go.
