My sister-in-law is in ICU with double pneumonia, a blood infection and very low platelets. She has stage IV colorectal cancer with mets to lymph nodes and spine. She is on a repirator now and is totally sedated. Has anyone been through this? We are so worried about her. Can someone help? She has been through so much, I just need some reassurance that this too shall pass. Thanks

    Dear swalder,

You and your family will be in our prayers. It sounds like she has been through an awful lot with this horrible disease. We can't ever give up hope.

Hello, I know you are very worried about your sister-in-law. I was in intensive care 9 days after I had surgery for rectal cancer. I was on a ventilator. I don't know if that's the same as respirator??? I came out of it and she can too. I will be praying for her and for you to stay strong as you go through this. It is hard. Let us know how things are going.
    Love and prayers, Judy(grandma047)

Judy is right. Lots of us have been on the edge of living with side effects of this monster, cancer. Your sister is in the right place to help with her temporary setback. Stay with it and don't give up. It is only temporary, but feels horrible right now. We are all with you and please keep us posted on how her recovery goes!!!!

Thank you all for your prayers. No change today, we are all just hoping real hard for a miracle. They happen everyday for people, we would love to see one for Shelly. She is 35, a mother of 3 kids, wife of Robb. She is the strongest person I know and admire. I want to thank you all for letting me go on like this. She is so much my inspiration for everything. Thanks again.
