Hello I'm alright then the next minute I'll be having hot flashes and I start sweating .I'm on Effexor and take black cohosh but the black cohosh doesn't seem to work and my doctors cant put me on any thing that has estrogen because it brings cancer back and the hot flashes are causing headaches has any one had problems with hot flashes.

I was on Effexor to help with hot flashes. It worked for awhile, then I started having a lot of hot flashes again. Doctor switched me to Zoloft, and things are much better. But I think our bodies get accustomed to certain medications, then they aren't as effective as when we first start taking them. Anyway, you might ask your doc if you should try the Zoloft.

I'm on the Effexor too. I can take up to two pills a day per my doctor, one has cured my hot flashes and night sweats. I started off with 1/2 a pill and one pill seems to control it. Can you up your dose or are you taking the max already?

Have you tried vitamin E? My doctor had me start it shortly after the tamoxifen and it seems to help. I take 1000 milligrams a day.

I had wicked Hot flashes all summer and even worse after lupron injections. My doctor gave me Neurontin which at first I didn't want to take but It works great no more sweaty days and sleepless nights.
