Does anyone have any info on papillary renal cell cancer treatments or clinical trials? My doctor said standard chemo may work but IL-2 and Interferon do not.

You are correct about IL-2. Although I wouldn't rule it out. The main problem you face is the reseacrh is done mostly fro clear cell becasue thats about what 80% of RCC patients have. Try going to http://www.cancerguide.org/rcc_subtypes.html
and you may learn what will work for you. Good luck
Memorial Sloan Kettering does not use high dose Interlukin 2, however they are researching other agents and vaccines. It's worth a try. May I recomend a Dr. Susan Slovin, she has great bedside manner. Also get in contact with action to cure kidney cancer. They can be located at http://www.ackc.org
