HOW DO YOU DETERMINE CANCER-FREE STATUS?

I had surgery in March 2000 when my cancer was discovered and removed. I went through 6 rounds of chemo, which ended in September of 2000. Do I say I've been cancer free since March of 2000 or September of 2000? It's probably a silly question, but I'd love to know.
Thank you!

I sometimes say cancer free, but I think it's no active cancer. My Doctor never says remission either. Thanks for sharing the note regarding the pain in your side also and it sounds exactly like mine... weird huh? Here was my reply....

thanks for sharing Monika, I wonder what the pain is from. It kinda scares me sometimes because I remember how sick I felt before they found the cancer and yet they told me nothing was wrong. Scary huh? Was you cancer in your liver also? Mine was and I sometimes think that is what it is from but am told no. I can't link mine to anything I've eaten either. Guess as you say just have to keep an eye on it, but if they ever find what is causing it I'll post it right away.

    Take Care and God Bless
