periods

Hi ,I was just wondering if anyone experienced periods that keep on going.Today is my 10th day.Everytime I think it is finished ,I get up in the mornng and I feel something running out of me and it is blood. I was hoping the chemo would make the period stop but it keeps on. All I know is that it is making me feel real tired. Tomorrow I go for my 3rd chemo so lets see...
Last time I went to have my chemo,my white count was 17,000.Instead of going down it went up! Has anyone had this. I actually feel fine except for the tiredness and loss of appetite.I was eating real good but lately,i am not hungry.Maybe it is because of the hormonal imbalance? My zoloff is increased to 100mg,maybe it is that also.....Shirl

    I remember when I was doing my chemo and I thought my periods would be gone too. I remember the last one I had was after my second cycle and it was like you describe, then it was gone and it still has not returned,and that was June or July, which I must admit is nice.lol Maybe you should just check with the doc or the nurse but when I have asked they tell me that everybody reacts differently to the meds. I have no idea about a white count going up, I never even new my numbers. I had chemo every two weeks and was on daily nuprogen injections. I pretty much left the numbers up to the doc's.

    My last period occurred after 2 or 3 weekly treatments of Taxol. It lasted about twice as long as had been normal for me and was heavier and clumpier. It frightened me at the time so I discussed it with my gynecologist who ressured me that the chemo had caused this, and it would probably be my last period or close to it. It's been 1 1/2 yrs and no periods since. Stress less by keeping the lines of communication open between you and your doctors and nurses. I did not have low blood counts until I went on FAC. I have to admit I didn't pay attention whether my wbc ever went up or down between treatments--just when it went too low!

    I was 36 when treated for my cancer with surgery chemo and radiation. After the third chemo treatment nothing seemed the same. Stopped having periods and the onset of hot flashes. I had hot flashes for years after chemo. I had a period that came and went at odd times. 7 years later I thought I was done with periods now I am having unregular ones. I had one that went on, flowing heavily for almost 4 weeks. Then I didn't have one for 4 months. I have had another recently but just spotting more like this time. But I am thankful for one thing, the hot flashes have subsided for now. I am sure they will back at some point since my mother has had them for 20 years now. I found comfort in my hot flashes, cooled me off in the summer time because soaked all the time. The brighter side of things lol.
