Been away for nearly a month. I'll update you all.
I continue to have an open abdominal wound from the reconstruction. Found a new MD. My insurance doesn't participate with him (or the other way around). Having my insurance work at getting his services covered and plan to have a revision and clean up job on my belly in late october.
I have been suffering with macrocytic anemia. Got scoped both ends, no bleeding and negative biopsey. Got CT of abdomen to double triple check, abdomen seems fine. I do now however have a fatty liver. What gives? I made an appointment to see my oncologist next month.
I went to my nephew's wedding in North Carolina and we got evacuated from the beach. All went to Richmond VA to my sister's home, hurricaine hit and we were without power for 6 days. In spite of all that we had a wedding! Found a hotel with a ballroom and a caterer (the original one was on the Outer Banks and couldn't get to the mainland) and it had electricity. Held a rehearsal diner at my sisters for over 70 without elec. Gilled pork roasts, chicken, veggies and salmon. My brother is a chef so we had a gormet meal. The power of Family!!!! Wedding was wonderful. Bride didn't wear shoes even though we were no longer on the beach. Had a fabulous time. Thank God I was still here and healthy enough to enjoy and enjoy I did!!!
Been catching up on all your posts. God Bless you all! Beth

Happy you're back and in fine form! That spirit of perserverance is delightful and seems you guys in VA had it in abundance! KUDOS!

About the fatty liver...according to my onc. it is not uncommon to have this to some degree, following chemo. In most women, it is very mild and never progresses. I had a bit of "achiness" in the area of my liver which started about 3 months after completing chemo. It lasted about 2 months and went away, as my onc. expected it would. It didn't become any more bothersome and that was that. Onc simply monitored my blood every 6 weeks (liver function) and nothing showed up which was unusual and since the ache went away, we were all happy campers.

Wish I knew more but that's the extent of my experience with it.

    Good luck.

    Love, light and laughter,
    Ink

Welcome back Beth! Sorry I haven't posted sooner, but things have been kinda hectic around here. So glad to hear your scopes were clear. Maybe you just have a B12 deficiency, that can cause a macrocytic anemia. My grandmother used to swear by her B12 shots!
Who knows, maybe the open wound has something to do with the fatty liver. I know you'll be glad when that heals!
Loved the story about the wedding, talk about perseverence. Sounds like everyone had a great attitude! Anyway, it's good to have you back. (((HUGS))) hummb
