Well, I finished chemo August 4th and am doing okay, still tired, but okay. Within the last two weeks I developed a lump right by the scar on one of my reconstructed breasts. I wonder if that could be scar tissue. I had a bilateral mastectomy and it's the breast that didn't have cancer. I had transflap surgery last Feb. Is it late to develop scar tissue? Should I talk with the oncologist, the breast surgeon, the plastic surgeon, the gynecologist or the family doctor? Any thoughts?

Hi, it could be nothing but I'd suggest you go to your oncologist. Just to be sure and safe. You just finished chemo so it would be strange to have something bad already but talk to the onc first. I don't think it's anything to worry about but then I'm not a doctor but I just have a positive feeling. God bless and hang in there.
    Hugs, Marie

I'd talk to all of them. You will get 5 different answers, but at least you will obtain comprehensive information. Love, Denise

Hi I just saw your post as I am getting ready to go to my 6th rad treatment. I too felt a lump after a free flap surgery I was told to talk to all the doctors and they all saw and felt and said oh it's probably scar tissue. This so called scar tissue turned out to be cancer. My advise for what it's worth is insist on a biopsy don't walk run! If it's really nothing your mind is at ease.

    Dear Sandis
I do not want to scare you but I would for sure have biosopy done on it. I too had a new mystery lump develop about a month after my 1st phase of reconst. surgery. It was located on the same spot you describ-right on the scar line. It was positive for second cancer tumor. I had it removed along with the reconst. work I had done up to that point. Dont let this make you scared for it may not be what i had ...but do use this advise to have it checked out!!
let me know Good luck and God Bless
