hi. we are two recent college graduates interested in trying to create a line of fun, sexy, and elegant mastectomy bras. one of our moms is a breast cancer survivor who has complained about the lack of creative lingerie available to women who have had mastectomies. we're wondering if anyone out there has any feedback to offer. we'd appreciate any and all comments. thanks.

I have seen regular bras that you can fill with water, you might want to try a design that would let you fill the bra with water.

I wish my sister weren't traveling this week. She didn't have the reconstruction I just did with her cancer 17 years ago! If I had an email address for you I could have her answer you directly later..........

You mean that there is something better out there then a turtle neck sweater?

I found out how ugly the choice of bras were. I have sewn in some regular bras something to hold my prothesis. My bathing suit is just a regular bathing suit with a small bra to hold my prothesis.

Your best bet is to start with normal lingerie and then make some sew in pockets. It would be nice to look beautiful - You Rock Girls!!! I am only 37 years old and find it really difficult to shead my clothes for intimacy. Let us know when you have created your masterpieces. Smile Cammie

I have a suggestion. Most bras have nasty seams in them. My suggestion would be to make the bras smooth, no seams. People who know you have had b/c seem to look at your chest anyway. We don't need seams to draw their attention. Best of luck.
