My daddy died on labor day!

I would like to share this poem with you all.
I feel like this is how my daddy would feel or what he would say.
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, fill it with memories. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with the times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now. He set me free.

I sure hope this touches your hearts the way it did mine. My daddy is gone now, and he was my best friend and I will always miss him but it helps to know that he is no longer suffering and he is in a better place now.

Love,
Legina

I am sorry that you have lost your dad. I am going through the same thing with my dad. He is such a fighter and has lived now for a year and a month after they diagnosed him with small cell lung cancer. I know that you have probably already shared the details of your dad's cancer. But may I ask what kind of lung cancer did your dad have? I hope that you are doing okay. I know how hard this is to deal with. Take Care and God Bless. Mechelle :)

    Sorry for your loss
I am so sorry for your loss. My mom died from lung cancer on Jan. 19, 2001. It was like the end of the world for me. I hope you managed to move on. Best wishes.

Look at the date on the post you are replying to
phoenixc, Look at the date on the post you are replying to. It might be better to answer a newer thread (maybe in the Emotional Support forum) than to reply to a 9 year old post....

    Emotional Support Forum
    To Stayingcalm

You mentioned the Emotional Support Forum, could you tell me where that is??? This is my 5th try today to write something because it keeps disappearing. Have to keep this short. Read your posts all night; very uplifting and enjoyable reading. Hope this "sticks". Great health and love to all!
