I have what may be a very insignificant problem following my chemo with a/c. I had IV injections into my right hand. Where I had the injections my hand is very tender and red in color. My last treatment was the beginning of August and I thought by now this would have "healed" , but it hasn't. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Should I be concerned? I hate to "whine" about everything and run to the doctor. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Alane.

Hi Alane, I just read your post on the discussion page about the tenderness to your hand where you had your chemo IV. I never had that but the nurses always told anyone who did to let them know. I hope you have as wonderful of doctors and nurses that I have, I could call them any time for anything. I think you should let them know. You said your last treatment was the first of Aug, have you not been back since? Do you get a series of 10 shots of Lukine (spell) after each treatment? It is for the white blood cells. Take good care. Murphy

hi, I read your posting. I'm 9 years out but I have a thought. Our health is for most of us the most important thing going- without it, no family, good times etc. SO, no problem is insignificant to us!!! Good doctors and nurses know this and will not dismiss a call as insignificant. Who else can you trust at home but your own instinct that something doesn't seem right to you. My motto which saved my life: be safe not sorry. I'd rather have a doctor tell me it is nothing than to tell me" oh, if you had only told me sooner." Call the doctor whenever you have a concern. Let the medical professionals make the decision... our job is to accurately keep track of our bodies and report our findings. Hope all goes well. A good doctor's office should never dismiss a call as insignificant, silly or stupid. If they do, GET A NEW DOCTOR!!!!
