I wish that I had heard of this discussion group around 10 months ago when I first learned of the tumor. I was stage 3-4 (3.5 cm tumor; hormone receptive; 2 lymph nodes involved) and have just finished treatment! I am now left with heart damage from adriamycin; have had blood clots from CMF, and fortunately all went well with taxotere. Right now I am so frightened of what comes next! After all I've been through, it seems like I should have something happening! But the "rest" almost feels good. I, too, would like to know about a chat room. Please respond through this directory.
Thanks every so much, Bonnie

Just to let you know that although I haven't had quite the trouble you have ahad, I stay aware of cancer everyday of my life. I am just over a year out and lately I have been feeling pretty sluggish and weepy. Guess that will be with us from now on. Great thought! I didn't have the heart damage or the blood clots, and I know how scared you are. But kiddo you'r not alone. All of us know just what you are going through and there is one thing that I know. We are SURVIVORS and every day we have is a day closser to the cure. If not for us then for those that follow. Hang in there. Will be praying for you. Mayree

Thanks for your wonderful message. You are right, we do this for those who follow (our daughters!). As I always say: I woke up today, this is a good day! Participate in the Race For The Cure. For all of us! My state's race is October 8th and my family and I are walking. We've also received over $200 in pledges. We have to support such a worthy cause. May God bless and keep you. Hello Bonnie, Just read your post this morning. You have been through the fire and come through singed but intact!!!! Please try not to be frightened. We will all survive this thing and we will continue to support one another. Mayree said she will be praying for you and I shall also pray for you. My prayer list is getting longer and longer and I often wonder if GOD must sit to listen...Stay in touch with all of us because talking about this even on the keyboard is very good for our souls. We are getting information back from others with similar experience and from someone who really understands. Your Friend, Nancys

Thanks for the wonderful response. I was having a down day but am better now. I have added your name and everyone else's that I have met in this wonderful site to my prayer list too. It's so good to know there are others going through the same things. We can all draw strength and courage from each other. As I always say: I woke up this morning, this is a good day! Everyone be sure to get involved with the Race For The Cure. I'm participating in the race in my state on October 8th. So far my family is walking with me and we have received over $200 in pledges. We have to find a prevention for this dreaded disease, if not for ourselves, then for our daughters. May God bless you and keep you. Please stay in touch. Your friend, Bonnie

Bonnie, As the newest kid (just joined this morning [since its 12:36 a.m. CA time) I want to say wow. Glad things seem to going well for you. I was just diagnosed Aug 22nd. Invasive Lobular carcinoma, first tumor 2 cm. 8-12 more still in breast. Next step mastectomy and lymphnoids. xsx!@#$%^&&. Then treatment. No decision on that yet. Report states that I the receptors are "weakly acceptable". Don't you ever get good news in the beginning. Well don't want to dwell on sorrow, glad you are doing well at this time. Continue on to the top of the hill. I know you can do it. Mcgruff

Hello, I can relate to to the "no good news
syndrome." I have been at the testing and doctor
visiting for 6 weeks and I haven't heard anything
good yet. Sooner or later it will get better. I'll say a prayer for you. Good luck. Carla

i've just been reading back through messages, and came across this, about no good news. i found lump sept 22, and about oct 22 i remember saying to my friends - it's as if every other day a truck comes by and - bam! flat on the ground, then you're just beginning to find your wobbly legs again, when - bam! yet another truck, then the path report comes back and -bam, crunch, squelch! this time it was a bulldozer. this seemed to go on interminably, until the day i went to the surgeon and, for once, there were no more trucks! no angles either, but the mere fact of no more trucks put me on cloud nine for a good 23 hrs 6 minutes and 43 seconds! Finally, i had something, albeit just the lack of trucks in the vicinity, to feel positive about!. now, one month later, i got the measure of those trucks! i know they're just around the corner, and i kinda lie on the road, straight out, so not even the undercarriage hits me! ah ha, i cry, as they disappear across the horizon of my day, didn't get me that time! so, yes, it does get better, and i realize now it's all relative. anyway, i too have invasive lobular carcinoma with lymph nodes affected - they not sure how many - redoing path examination, but i am starting chemo nov 20. maybe in a month or so i will be able to find a bit of humour in that, too!. if yu don't hear from me you'll know i didnt! best wishes to you all. susan
