Yes it is

I was only 38, and I had testicular cancer pretty bad, an AFP of 330,000. My fight lasted three months in the hospital, 1 month in rehab, and almost a year before I really started moving around like before.

I had lost all my strength being hospitalized and bedriddden. Four rounds of chemo in my state really knocked me down. Thus the need for rehab to even stand. Once out I had the same effects of constant fatigue.

Long story to support YES this is normal. I did not want to accept having such a long fight back for my previous sleep patterns and physical capabilities but a balance of rest and trying to do more got me back.

- Tim

Hi Wenkelsam

I assume you're recovered by now. It took me also a while. If I remember correctly about 2-3 weeks before I could walk short distances. And pretty much back to normal after about 4-6 weeks. I started exercising again maybe 2 months after the operation. I took it slow... :)

I felt very subtle sensations / discomfort around the incision every once in a while for at least half a year... nothing worrisome though.

Hope you feel better now.

Cheers

Eric
slow recovery, is this normal?

I am 37 years old, and was diagnosed in may. I finished chemo about 2 weeks ago. was wondering if anyone took awhile to heal from orchiectomy.
Also having a hard time getting back to normal since chemo. Fatigue,
sleep, and eating still feel the same as when I was in chemo. Any body
who has feedback, your help would be very appreciated.
