At the age of thirteen i was diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma. It was a true shock.
What a life changing experance it proved to be. Being the second of four boys in our family, the asperations i had were directly linked to my older brother, who in school, was a Jock all the way. Watching him go from one sport to another drew me into the same desire to BE Cool if you will.
As i reached junior high, and about to realize the dream that had been forming in my mind for years, I found myself stricken with Ewings sarcoma- cancer of the long bones. Every dream seemed to go puff......
And thats where the Adventure really started for me.
If you think details of my story can help you, feel free to contact me viea EMAIL at Doggdayy3434@netzero.net

  Truely Michael.

I am now 23 and was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 19 as a sophomore in college. Currently I am a first year medical student and would love to participate in your project if you're still looking for survivors.

CALL FOR INTERVIEWEES

February 13, 2002
My name is jen krawitz and I am currently an undergraduate student at Smith College in Northampton, MA. I am
in the process of compiling research for my senior Honors Thesis project. I am a survivor of Hodgkin's disease
and have chosen to focus my thesis on how the experience of surviving childhood cancer informs men's,
women's, transgendered and transsexual's understanding of their gender and sexuality in U.S. society. This work
will be a multicultural analysis that focuses on how race, class, gender, sex, sexuality, religion, etc intersect with
the illness experience and impact one's understanding of their body, body image, aesthetics, vulnerability, gender and sexuality. I am
looking for people between the ages of 13-23 who are currently in remission or "cured" from their cancer, and
would be willing to do at least two, possibly three interviews for which you would be receive a small monetary
compensation for your time, energy, and spirit. If you are interested in helping me with this project and/or would
like more information before committing to an interview please feel free to email or call me with any questions,
concerns, or contributions.

Thank you

jen krawitz
