completely overwhelmed

My husband was treated for ocular melonama in 2003. A routine liver scan and follow up CT last week have revealed "suspicious" lesions on his liver. He is scheduled for a PET scan next week before the definative diagnosis of metastatic melanoma is made. I lost my mom to lung cancer this past August and my dad has also been battling stage IV lung cancer since last February. I know that I need to be strong for my husband but I don't know how much more of this I can take. I feel like I am in the middle of a nightmare and can't wake up! Praying for a miracle and hoping the PET scan will be negative

whoever said "God only gives you what you can handle" needs a swift kick in the rear. Don't forget to breathe.

know so well how you feel
I to am so overwhelmed. My husband has been in the hospital now for 8 days, 2 in icu. Cancer of the throat. He stopped breathing when they put a port in his chest, then had to put a tube in his throat so he could breath again. Just got home from the hospial. The docter said that they might have to remove the port because one of the wires looks like it is lose? And if it does it lose could go in his blood stream or he could have heart attack. But he is so weak. Has been getting cemo and rad treatments for a month. They said that it was up to him if he wanted to remove the port and put something in his arm that would stay there for the cemo treatments, but there is a high risk of infection. What does one do??? His treatments for cancer has stopped. Is it growing>. They can't tell unless they put a tube down in throat and find out, he can't risk it.. We cry everyday! He has had a liver transplant 10 years ago. He is so scared as I am!!! It is dam if we do and dam if we don't/ So I feel like I am moving in slow motion all the time. Like in a fog.

Wish I could tell you what
Wish I could tell you what to do as the "right" thing, but I learned through my husband's battle there is no such thing. You just have to get as many of the facts as you can and choose what seems as the "best" choice. My prayers are with you.
