For me, it's Red Wine, Chocolate and paranormal romances.

I love Pinot Noir or Shiraz (tend to prefer the New Zealand Pinot and Australian Shiraz)
and Hazelnut Chocolate bars from Lindt! YUMMMM!

as for the romance novels... Charlaine Harris, Christine Feehan, and the Arcane Society series from Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle and Krentz (same author, different time periods) are some of my guilty reading pleasures. OH...and the Michelle Bardsley Broken Heart series!

Is it cocktail and dessert time yet?

:)

    It is somewhere!
    Leesa,
I love Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio or a vodka & club soda. Not much of a desert person. If or when I read, it's usually James Patterson. I also have a job that I really like and the people too so that occupies me full-time. If I had too much time on my hands, I would have way too many Pinots or vodka! I think I'll toast to you.

    I love the southern vamp
I love the southern vamp series! Twilight....not so much.

I'm not a big drinker, but I do like a glass of white wine now and again, or Kahlua and cream, amaretto sour.....pretty much whatever you've got, except scotch.

I like white chocolate, which I know isn't really chocolate, but I still like it. My family likes desserts and I'm a stress baker, so it works out.

PS...my peach cobbler is to die for

I love beautiful tools for any chore, & embroidered clothes.
I love good tools and have a kitchen full of cooking tools for every imaginable dish, a shed-full of heirloom-quality garden tools. I've always enjoyed 'projects' and well-made well-designed tools for everything I do.

Anything made with cream cheese or sour cream is irresitable to me. Dark chocolate truffles; don't get me started! Coffee with Bailey's, heavy on the Bailey's. Baked macaroni with stewed tomatoes.

I'll read just about anything. My Kindle is getting a workout with all these chemo infusions and waiting room waits, and the luxury of time to read is one of the true blessings cancer has given me. (maybe the ONLY one! HA!) I'm reading 'Cutting for Stone' this week; very good read, $5 on Kindle.

I can't tell you how many embroidered sweaters and jackets and tops I have: too many. I can't seem to walk past anything embroidered in a store or online without buying it; I think it's all the vivid colors that suck me in over and over. I even buy embroidered things for everyone ELSE on my gift list!

My guilty pleasure is 'Big Love' on HBO. No idea why I like that show so much, but I have the whole series set up to be TiVo'd & watch each episode at least twice.

    tacky, I know
Yes it's tacky and tasteless but I enjoy watching the NJ shore and Teen Mom. The only other 'reality' show I watch is Survivor. New season starts this month so I'm gearing up. Besides for news programs I don't really watch much TV. I used to read alot but I just haven't had the time. My most recent chemo therapies have been 1/2 hr infusions so I don't get a lot of down time there.

Has anyone ever saw the series Arrested Development? It is no longer on primetime but is still on cable. It was cancelled due to low ratings but won awards by the critics. I watched it when I was recovering from my inital surgery and inital chemos when someone suggested it. I never laughed so hard. If you can find it on cable, watch it. VERY funny once you get to know the characters.

I do like chardonnay, merlot and cabernet. Baileys yes. come to think of it I have a chilled bottle in the fridge!

    I love chocolate.

    Guilty Pleasures
Fried oysters, champagne - Boiled crawfish, New Mexican green chili - not much on sweets - can't sleep if I eat them - have not read much - bothers my eyes. Spending time on my computer. A good steak. Sleeping in.
I will eat chocolate but like the 65-70% chocolate. I know this not very exciting.

    Guilty pleasures
I love sweets; I'm sure I am an addict. I like to bake but since I am trying to be more health conscious, I haven't done much of that lately. Plus I don't like tempting my son who is working out and trying to get in shape. I am going to research healthy alternatives and try them on my family. I am not much of a drinker but in the summer I do like wine coolers. Mike's Hard Lemonade is good. I like to read mysteries such as Mary Higgins Clark. I think I have read most of her books. Lightweight but enjoyable. My favorite television show is any of "The Real Housewives." I know, I know. But I get a kick out of them. I like HGTV and Food Network as well.

    Have fun!

I am a closet Big Love fan!
I am a closet Big Love fan! Also True Blood and Boardwalk Empire. I was crazy about the Sopranos and Six Feet Under. That one (SFU) had the best ever final episode.

I read mostly non-fiction. Right now I am reading a bio of Katherine Swynford. I have a Sony eReader and I also download books to my iPad. I get most of mine from various libraries. I'm going to check and see if I can get a card to the NY City Library.

I never really liked Big Love but I did like Sopranos and Six feet under. Does anyone watch Dexter, Nurse Jackie? Both are VERY good. The Big C is just ok in my opinion.

You can get Ereader through the library? My Mom is a huge reader and always gets her book from the library. That is why a kindle and such won't work for her...she will not pay for a book because she reads that much. If she can get them through the library I'll definately buy her a reader as a gift.

    love many things
i watch American Idol - which is totally not me... but for some reason it making me relaxed, just brainless time spent.
i do like Curb your enthusiasm and i liked HBO's rome and Showtime - HenryVIII,
also - boardwalk empire this year was ok.

i like to read but not a lot time left, mostly i just re-reading my old favorites - i am ukrainian so i of course love russian and ukrainian classical literature, as well as marquez and hesse. and much more...

love to cook traditional eastern European food and also experiment with new dishes,
last night made the most delicious curry and lentils

sushi and raw oysters- i can eat any time, but unfortunately now it is a no-no....:((((

have big sweet tooth, but now my desert mainly piece of dark chocolate and some dates.

my work - is my life, my hobby and because it is family business - everybody involved.
but sometimes i have to say - no work talk for the night.

love dogs and helping to rescue them

    Great topic!
I'm all over the place. I think I love at least one of something that each of you love. Dexter, The Sopranos, Weeds, MI5, Britcoms, and many more. Chocolate - my favorite is plain old Hershey's. Ice cream - Hagen Dasz and Stewarts (upstate NY brand). Martinis with 4 olives, frozen margaritas, and Corona with Mexican food. I am always reading something, and I go through phases of non-fiction & fiction. Strangely, I couldn't read or watch TV much when I was in chemo. My iPhone and my work, about which I am passionate, saved me from complete boredom. Shopping, especially in thrift stores, yard sales & flea markets, but not in NYC anymore because of bed bugs :( Shoes, sandals & boots (just call me Imelda.). I shop for some of my friends who don't enjoy it, and that's the best because it helps them and I'm not spending more money and bringing more stuff home :). Finally, downhill skiing; as close as I've ever come to flying.

    Nancy.....
The Sony eReader, the Nook (first edition) and the new Nook Color all support free downloads from public libraries, both print and audio versions. The Kindle does not.

Also, the iPad supports some library files (they are called EPub files) and they support MP2 audio book downloads, as well. Your mom might like audio books, too.

New York, of course, has a huge selection of eBooks. In addition to Texas libraries, I use my brother-in-law's account at the KC library (since he does not download eBooks, and they "return" automatically, so there is no risk of incurring fines on my behalf) and I signed up for $15.00 a year with the Philadelphia Free Library. I'm hoping NYC will let me have a non-resident card. I am going to plead my case, as a MSKCC patient. (Or I could just talk Joni into applying for a library card and giving me the number, since she said she has no free time to read.)

I bought my Sony when I started treatment, so I didn't have to lug a big hard-bound book with me to chemo and labs, etc. It was another "guilty pleasure", and a pity gift to myself. My husband bought me the iPad for Christmas, 2010. Although I was not happy with him initially, for spending so much money on a gift for me, I have to say that I absolutely love it!

We camp in the Adirondacks every summer. Last year was our 18th. We also ski at Catamount, in Columbia county and have friends in Otsego county. OK, I just googled Sullivan county. I have a cousin in Callicoon. I love the Catskills! I live in Brooklyn, and lots of people here think "upstate" is Rockland county....LOL.

    these are a few
of my favorite things.... pinot noir and margaritas with salsa and guacamole (I actually don't drink often, but when I do, these are my favs). I love murder and mayhem on TV, DVD, audiobooks and my ereader... everything from Agatha Christie to Dexter. I'm a movie junkie
and am always arranging my Netflix account. I purchase all the movies, audiobooks and ereader downloads for our local library and have continued to do that from home since I've been chemoing. I think the public would be surprised to see who's keeping them up to date with all the new James Pattersons/Jeffery Deavers and all.......... :)

You need to be a New York State resident to obtain a NYC library card/they have a great download website, but alas budget cuts have made it hard for even the locals. You have to recertify your residency each year. They just made mine inactive till I can fax them my info and that was after only one year.

Wow, you do learn something everyday. I never heard of mulberry bags until I read your post. I googled it and immediately found a bag I loved. It is fab (sorry I am an American of the Beatles era). Then I saw the prices. Oh well, I really don't need a purse.

    A few of mine:
I like to go to estate sales and yard sales, although estate sales have become a bit too morose for me lately. I like old houses and old things and watching the Antiques Road Show on PBS. I have given up my ebay addiction ;-)! I like traveling the Southwest and collecting Native American art. My husband and I painted our house Pecos Spice (adobe-ish) and I decorated the house with Navajo rugs,I like the Tree of Life rugs with birds best, art prints, sand paintings, and pottery. I'm looking forward to a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico, as soon as I get to travel again. I like a strong margarita on the rocks with salt around the rim from my favorite Mexican restaurant and look forward to one as soon as I get a chance for that again too! On TV I like to watch The Big Bang Theory and was glad to see American Idol start up again. I think Stephen Tyler,Jennifer Lopez, and Randy are doing a good job of not being too mean so far! I just started reading John Grisham's The Confession.
    OHHHHH! I LOVE CHOCOLATE ANYTHING!
