Still pretty cold. In my neck of the woods it is raining, with a low of +50F. Hopefully it will be warm enough to put the top down for Xmas!

The Netherlands is below freezing for the next week....
not even a degree above, during the day....

See, it's my fault....I have a candle lit for snow and ice when we get there...sometimes it goes a bit haywire and starts too early....

Hanging my head in shame....Hugs, Kathi

natural gas heaters or natural gas central heating depends of
the building , in my case we got our own heater ( I prefer it rather than central) that normally l turn it on normally mid October until who knows !
I'm very sensitive to cold! hahahaha!.By the way don't you prefer Spanish sherry rather than Porto?.Hahahahaha!

We live in a house built in the 50's...
Radiators all over, with a heater kettle downstairs...

In California, we have forced air heating....I was surprised at how well the radiators work!

    kettle
what is a heater kettle Kath????/ we have a furnace in the basement that heats the air and then it is forced through vents. In my childhood home we had big radiators with hot water....they were wonderful....the very best to sit and dry your mittens when you came in from the snow..

actually I would not have imagined a furnace in Caly

    TeeHee...we So Cal'ers are sensitive things.....blush...
LMAO!!!! I could show you pics of people today, in high 50-degree outside temps, wrapped in down jackets, mittens, and scarves....see, we MUST have thin blood---the summers are so darn HOT!!!!!!

Sorry, I used the Dutch word for water heater (ketel)...and to add to it, I spelled it the English way....ROFLMAO!!!! Yes, this is a water heater downstairs, and it sends hot water throughout the system. And VERY fast!!! I was always impressed!!! I, too, am guilty of laying assorted wet things on the radiatiors...they dry so nicely for the next day's snow play!! We have slate floors in the house (Holland), and they get VERY chilly! So, I warm my feet on the radiators (enclosed in socks...they are HOT!), as well. My body always goes thru a bit of a climate shock with this winter switch...California is rainy, but also has it's beautiful warm days, The Netherlands...well...there are beautiful days (you have no doubt seen my pics), but they are VERY cold this time of year....

in spring in Canada at 50 there is not a coat to be seen....why that's nice swimming weather. I remember taking my daughter to Florida for March Break....we were staying at a nice hotel and it was about 50 and blowing like stink. Well of course we were in the pool and people would say.....oh you must be Canadian??? why we say.....no one but crazy Canadians think it's warm enough to swim
