Sweet! This morning I got the word and joined the club, the NED club! Call me survivor. Call me bad-****. I kicked this cancer thing's butt big time!

Just over 9 weeks post-treatment and I am pain-free and eating totally normally again. My voice is 50%, but I never could sing to begin with, so that's no big deal. Slight issues with dry mouth, but sipping water throughout the day fixes that and keeps me hydrated. Energy levels are at about 80% and my stamina is shot to hell. Tried a 1-hr mountain bike ride the other day and it kicked me so much harder than just not training over the last 6 months. Something else at work here. I'm going to have to start at base 1 again. Oh well.

New goal: Another Ironman triathlon in 2013! This time wearing the yellow for real. I AM A SURVIVOR!!!

Common gang! Let's ALL call ourselves Ned!!!

Wonderful News, couldn't be happier for you. Hope Dave gets to join that club too. Got his first pet/ct scan follow up this morning and will know the results this coming Wednesday. I hope he gets to meet NED also. Have a big celebration tonight and I will be thinking of you. Wow great news.

    Had both PET and CT
PET and CT with contrast. The PET still shows slight glowing yellow all around the area and your can see the swelling from the radiation damage. The throat looks like a bean rather than a circle and the vocal chords aren't as symetric as in the first PET - the reason for the voice. They knew 8 weeks out would show some types of uptake, but at least no bright glowing white spots that clearly indicate a tumor.

Here's the before and after where you can really see it!

P.S. You can literally see where I lost some weight outta my fat **** as well! ;-p

    BAck on yer bike !
Well done Doug. It took me 6 months to even think about getting to where you are now so you are doing great. You might find you will do a Lance Armstrong trick and your biking will improve well past your previous life - after the de-porking and slight change in body shape.

Welcome to the land of NED.
