Goodbye Red Devil!!!

i'm so ready for this phase of treatment to be over with! tomorrow is my last A/C, a 2 week break, then onto 12 weeks of Taxol.

i'm really happy that i'm about to leave that damn red devil behind me! thinking about those large, red syringes of liquid makes my stomach turn. ugh!!

i think i need some support to finish this guy up. maybe i'll feel ok after...
only time will tell. i have an 8am appt; glad it's early this time. i just want to get it over with!!

    Hang in there Carrie!
    You can see the "finish line". It may not seem so going through all this but time will go by fast! And soon, you'll be all done!

    Soo glad for you Carrie! That AC is a nasty combination, at least it was for me. I had taxotere afterwards rather than Taxol, but it's my understanding that they're similar? I got more physical symptoms with the T, this rash/burns on my hands, and stomach pain & the big D for a couple days, and my taste buds were virtually non existent for 2 days before getting better, but still, it was easier on me than the AC. I just didnt seem to have that all-encompassing fatigue & body pain that I did on AC. Best of luck to you on your next step. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow morning :)

    Glad to hear that your A/C will be done today! Yay! I didn't have this cocktail, so I don't know about the side effects. Hopefully, the Taxol will be better for you. Hang in there! Hugs, Jean

    Yay I am so happy for you! That AC was the worst for me! I had a much easier time with 12 weeks of Taxol, Virtually no symptoms except for the big "D" and some stomach cramping, but nothing that Immodium couldn't help. I was even able to go back to work.

    Wishing you the best...It will be over before you know it : )

    Hope that Taxol is not the monster for you it was for me - it was FAR worse than A/C and I had 5 weeks between them - 2 weeks after A/C had surgery (mod. rad. mast.) and then 3 weeks stated the dozen Taxol monsters.

    All chemo sucks, but taxol was easier for Donna than A/C. Hope it is for you too!!

    One of the chemo nurses said that pre-menopausal women had a rougher time with the A/C and the post-menopausal women had a rougher time with the taxol. Don't know how true that is, but it was for Donna.

    Wasn't told that.
    I've never heard that before. Could be something to it - I'm 19 years out of menopause - went through at 44 - 45.

    You're through the worst
    Most people say taxol was much easier than A/C. Hopefully for you that will be the case. No matter what, it's doable and the end of the tunnel is in sight.

    Those steroids made me absolutely ravenous! In fact, that's how I could tell I would be starting my upswing after my chemo crash - i would wake up feeling like I hadn't eaten in weeks! You got through the AC like a CHAMP, Carrie! I know with your attitude & spirit you will get through the rest of your chemo without a hitch.
