Hi Everyone!

Please keep my family in your prayers. My dad had his first post treatment CT and PET this week. We will see the doctor next Monday morning. I am scared to death that the cancer in his tongue is not gone. I will let you know what happens.

We can't help but be anxious.
    Hey Puma,
I was just thinking about this anxiety we feel anticipating scans and scopes (Mark gets scoped on Wednesday). I think the first time we heard it was cancer resonates so loudly in our brains, we fear the worst. I worry with Mark's very good recovery that we will pay the price with bad news at scope or scan time.
The advice I would give myself would be: don't worry about something until you really know there is something to worry about. It is wasted energy and wasted time. Anxiety is draining, and serves no purpose. You cannot worry enough to make the test result any better. It is what it is. Feel confident in your strength and your dad's strength that you will be able to handle whatever comes.
My Best to you and your Dad and Mom.
    I have the same kitty..."Jack".

    Good Advice
I'm not sure if there is any way not to be concerned and worry. But the advice that Kim gives is about as honest as you can get....

    Ditto
I am so in agreement with Kim and John. I did not have as much anxiety. I believed that the cancer was gone and the scans, scopes and others would only confirm my beliefs. Positive Mental Attitude....

    Welcome to our CSN family

    thank you
I appreciate the welcome. Today is my first day as a member on this site. I should have been here months ago. I can tell it is full of really good, loving, caring people. Doing well, myself. Right now, 2.5 years post treatment and surgery for Sq.cell at base of tongue. You?

    Welcome Indeed, Charles
I finished treatment for base of tongue (SCC) in March - very happy to see you posting - you know how good it feels to see survivors. Glad you're doing well.

    I Know the Feeling
Looking forward to hearing good news from you Monday night (unless you're busy celebrating - then I can wait 'til Tuesday). Still, wouldn't want to be you this weekend, waiting for results.

    Thank you
Thank you for the prayers and words of encouragement. I promise to update everyone when I get to work Tuesday morning.

I know that it is early out of treatment, just a little over 2 weeks, so there is a chance for false positives.

Please continue with the prayers and know that my family has everyone of you in our prayers.
