    Great Fire Wall of China...
    Hi Stacy,
Unfortunately, the 'Great Fire Wall of China' has blocked youtube and many other sites. I did hear about the incident though about the 'Friendly Skies' not being so friendly with the guys guitar, and then not caring about the aftermath. I fly a lot and airlines are generally negligent when it comes to customer care. I won't get started. Airline horrors stories are boring and these days, I am just thank full if they land the bird safely.

Now that I hear it was a 'Taylor' that was mishandled, I will have to get my VPN fired up and break through that firewall and watch the clip ! The name 'Taylor' has a new meaning to me now. It's a new breed of exceptional guitars and will now rank with Martin, Gibson and Maton.

    Scam

    my 24 hr caregiver.
I posted my 11 1/2 year old greyhound alice to my profile photo.

Alice was diagnosed with osteocarcinoma (cancer of the shoulder bone) one week after my initial diagnosis. Yet she refuses to give up and follows me around the house to make sure I am ok. I know to some she is just a dog with cancer. But to me Alice is my 24 hour caregiver, my rock, the giver of unconditional love and devotion. I feel like we are going through the scary time together. And who knows maybe I will learn something from her stoic nature and the fact that though she is in pain Alice takes a moment every day to do her favorite things, she wakes up to stretch, take time to play: toss the stuffed animal, stare out the window and bark at squirrels. And if I cannot sleep Alice stays up to make sure I am on. And if I am on the computer too long she comes and checks on me.

While I have great friends helping me deal with my diagnosis, my friend Peggy has gone to all my doctors appointments except one and that one she only missed because her nephew had appendicitis which required emergency surgery and his mom was 3 hours away. Two sisters who call or text me each day. Along with my college roommate who texts every chance she gets.

What would wedo without the internet, without cell phones and without the ability to text.

Thinking positive thoughts for tomorrow's appointment wth the medical onoloist.

    ~ E

PS: I came up with my profile name Dragons 7-7-2010 as it is a play on the expression "Here there be dragons" which is a phrase used to denote dangerous or unexplored territories. Well for me since cancer was the last thing I expected when I went to the doctor, and this all seems like dangerous and unexplored territory. And since the initial needle biopsy which revealed my tonsil cancer was 7.7.2010 I felt it relevant.

Hi, I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. I'm not sure if this is the right place, but here goes... I am taking care of my father who has stage iv squamous cell carcinoma-head and neck. He survived five years without treatment after opting for holistic treatment. Over the last year he began to deteriorate and really just waited too long to do something about it. Now he weighs 118 lbs, has a tracheotomy and a PEG tube. He has begun chemo and radiation, but his prognosis is not good. I am trusting God for a miracle though.

I felt sad as I read these posts, because my mother has not been supportive of my father; she has run in the other direction because she cannot handle his illness. Because of this, I have had to leave my job and come home to care for him. It is bittersweet. I treasure this time with my father, but it has crushed my heart to see him sufferring. It has also hurt and angered me to witness my mother's disregard of him.

Right now I am focused on my father's diet and making food for his PEG tube. I look forward to all that I can learn from the others on this site. Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I look forward to getting to know you all more.

    God bless you all!

P.S. I also love Kimber's smile. Her smile makes me smile!

    Hi Michelle,

I am glad you found your way here and sad about your father. He is lucky to have a daughter like you. Continue to post here with questions and the great folks here will do all they can to answer them based on their own life experiences. Truly an amazing group here. I will include you and your parents in my prayers.

    Best,
    Steve

P.S. You may want to start a new thread and reintroduce yourself and more people will see it.

E, I completely understand about Alice, I feel the same way about my
Sara. She was with me also. My hubby was too but Sara also slept with me everynight. I'm very sorry to hear that she also has cancer. I had to put my last cocker spaniel down for brain cancer. It was heart wenching. I pray for you and her, because I KNOW HOW IMPORTANT OUR DOGS ARE!!!!!!
    God bless you and Alice,

    What Works Works....
Sometimes the unconventional is the method that works best.... In your situation it could be thought that what you now have allows a more true commitment.

Anyways just a thought on the unconventional.

People tend to think that Shelley and I have a strange relationship concerning bills an banking.

Shelley and I still have and maintain separate checking and savings accounts (she is on my accounts and I hers). She pays for her expenses as for her car, insurance and personal bills, as do I with mine. She pays for some of the common bills and groceries, I pay a few common bills and the mortgage PITI. I don't give her any grief on what she spends her extra money on, an the same with her with me.

Anyways, LOL...just something that works well for us....

    John

John, that's how Jr and I
John, that's how Jr and I are also. We put our names on each other's account so if we died, the state could not step in and take anything. People do think it's strange but like you said, it works. :0)
    God bless,
