Nausea tips

Just a quick little tip that a friend suggested for minor nausea. Ginger Chews - they are kind of like a candy. We found them at Whole Foods in the bulk food and nuts section.

I also had an Rx for Compazine (prochlorperazine) for severe nausea but could only take that every 6 hours. Inbetween doses of that, I could nibble on the Ginger Chews if I got a sour stomach. They are individually wrapped, so I could just keep a few in my purse.

    Ginger for nausea
I've always heard that it is very effective. I was never quite sure what form it came in, so thanks for sharing about these chews. It's a little late for me, but some of our newbies can benefit from this info. Thanks again!

    Ginger ale
I used to be a flight attendant and we would serve ginger ale to passengers who had motion sickness and nausea. I think you can also buy fresh ginger in the produce dept. and chew on a sliver of that. I prefer the ginger ale.

    Do ginger cookies count?
My best friend's husband mails me tupperware containers filled with his homemade ginger cookies. I always receive them the day following his baking them. I claim they have health benefits everytime my husband catches me eating one!!!

I would think that store bought would be effective. Dan makes his with molasses instead of sugar so I don't feel quite as guilty about eating them. Walgreens sells a brand that is about $1.99 a box. I can't remember the name, but I will check it out on my next visit and let you know. They were really tasty for store bought, thin and crispy...yum!!!

    Joanne!
    New pic! I like it.
Re ginger snaps, I like most of the store bought ones but homemade are great! My grandfather had a brand that was outrageously good. I will see if my mom remembers the brand and if they are still around.

    Gingerman Cookies
Pepperidge Farm makes cute and tasty Gingerman Cookies. They are thin and crispy - and the little man shape makes me smile!

    ginger cookies
Ginger in any form helps with nausea. It even helps with motion sickness. I tend to suck on ginger cookies (broken into little pieces) to calm my stomach and it works every time. Some health food and oriental markets have ginger pastilles - very small hard candies. I have found that sucking on slivers of ginger is just too intense. Health food stores also carry ginger capsules.

    Those would be Anna's Ginger
Those would be Anna's Ginger thins. Wonderful little cookies. Nabisco makes their ginger snap with molasses as well, but they are little on hard side if your mouth is sore. Ginger thins would be a better bet.
