Update on my dad

Last week we were told that the SCC is still there and is now in my dad's brain. The doctor said it is inoperable because of the location and because he has already had a rough go of it. They also said it can't be cured. I don't want to believe that. The 4 and a half hour drive home was so hard. We go back to Charleston Wed. and start chemo to shrink the tumor to relieve the pressure in his head. We also will find out if he'll have to go every week or every three weeks. He is now taking morphine which is helping the pain a lot. I'm not giving up hope. I'm so encouraged by all of the good news so many of you are sharing. I'm sorry to give a bad report but it helps to get it out where people understand. Thanks again for the thoughts and the prayers.

we all know that even when
we all know that even when the doctors can't do anymore that doesn't mean God has the same plan as them. You should never give up hope. We will all be praying for your dad and your family. You hang in there and we are here when you need to talk!
    God Bless you friend,
    Debbie

    Power of Prayer
You, your Father & Family have mine....

Like mentioned above, stay positive and keep the faith.."Faith, Family & Friends".

Chemo can do a lot of unexpected things, the tumour I had in my neck (secondary location of SCC, Tonsils were the primary) completely dissolved during my rounds of chemo.

Between the miracle of prayer, medications and technology your father has the best chances of recovery than any time in history.

    God Bless, and Good Luck,
    John

    Yes
Not sure this is much help-specific, but my Sister's C problem first showed w/headaches, then a radical double-vision episode. MRI revealed brain lesions, that lead to other tests. She never did get chemo- progressed too fast. They did, however, do radiation on the brain lesions in a "quality of life" effort. You say they can't Operate on him, because of the location- but is rad a possibility?

Sorry to hear your news, Carolina. Truly. As Hondo, Debbie and John say, so do I, and many others amongst our family, here, in regards to Prayer. Y'all got mine.

    Thanks kcass. I don't really
Thanks kcass. I don't really know the exact location. The dr. said that most likely the cell(s) were on a nerve that goes into the brain (at the base of his skull) and although he thought he got it all, he didn't. Now there are 2 new tumors. The surgery he had in Dec. took 15 hours-removal and reconstruction. He finished radiation in April. We find out Tuesday if he will have to do it again. Chemo started today , he'll be getting that once a week. Thanks for your prayers. God bless you!
