The following was sent to me by a friend, and I wanted to pass it along to all of my bc friends. Maybe some of you can get help with keeping up with housework by using this site. Good luck. Hugs.

I thought this was worth sharing…

Cleaning for a Reason

If you know any woman currently undergoing Chemo, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - 1 time per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment.

Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. http://www.cleaningforareason.org

    Free Housecleaning
    Hi,
I came across this website after hearing about the free housecleaning. Although I am not able to get anywhere on the website given/ http://www.cleaningforareason.org. Can you help with a different address or contact person name. My mother-in-law has cancer and heard about this program. I am trying to get the correct information to sign her up for it.
    Thank you
    Michele

    Hi,

Is the house cleaning still an available service?  A member in our group is now in home hospice and could REALLY use this.  (Ashland)

    Thank you,

    Janet

Kim, it's free and easy to sign up, go to www.cleaningforareason.org.

They will need a doctor to fax some paperwork to them and then your mom will be ready to receive cleanings once a month as far as cleaning for reason is concerned. This is all non profit and c4r depends on cleaning companies to clean for free. Unfortunately, there may not be very many, if any, cleaniing companies willng to clean for free in your area. If this is the case, and if you feel comfortable, you can contact cleaning companies and ask them to please sign up with c4r. Some companies don't even know about c4r, you will be educating them! Good luck to you and your mom. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Keep trying. New cleaning companies sign up and one may be in your area. I know it must be disappointing to sign up and find out there is nobody in the area, a suggestion would be to call local cleaning companies and ask them to sign up with c4r. Then you'll be first on their list! I have a small cleaning business and I just signed up with them because I just heard of them. Awareness is so important as most companies don't know what c4r is.

Hang in there! Let us know how it goes!

    cleaning for a reason

Hi Michele, I realize that this is an older post, but in the event you still need it or know of anyone else who needs it, I tried the site with the http... and got nowhere. If you just type in www.cleaningforareason.org it should take you to their site.
