Kurt, I am sure I am not alone in wondering how you are doing. Hoping you are starting to feel better and making the climb back to your old self. Post if you can. As always, thinking of you and your family and hoping all is well.

    thank you
    mike and hondo,
thanks for your concern. Doing well here. Thank goodness I felt good through xmas. I had my whole family over and sister and family in from South Dakota. I felt good all day and feel blessed for that. Next slept all day. LOL well after that it went down hill but thanks to you two I was prepared mentally.. Being nausea's was the worst. They gave me another type pill and it helped but still was rough last week. Today is actually the best I have felt so hope the worst is behind. I was bad about sipping the last few days but did do swallowing excercises. my wife has been amazing a cross between mother theresa and nurse cratchet. LOL just want to let you know that you and everyone else the network is on my my mind and in my prayers everyday. I take each day at a time and know one day I will hear the words you are cancer free.

I like Mike am very glad to hear that you are doing ok, just hang in there a little longer. Glad you had sometime to spend with the family, happiness is good for body and helps it to heal faster. I too was really blessed by the nurses when going through treatment; it was as if they could feel my pain and just new what to say. I will never for get them especially Mrs Juliann when I was hurting she would give me a hug, but not just a hug, she gave the type of hug that only a Mother could give.

Take care, still Praying for you.

    Good news!
Glad to hear from you Kurt and am really glad your Christmas holiday went well. (Don't suppose you were out New Years eve were you?) Hope your feeling "good" just keeps getting better. You should start feeling quite a bit better now in the next week or so. Keep up the drinking! Try some soup or something similar if you can. (Using PEG?) Took me a couple weeks before I could do "real" food. Had a couple failed tries, waited a few days and then bingo, success. Just kept going from there. Like Hondo, I had some nurses that just knew from looking at me when I walked into the cancer center how I was doing. Still see them for my port flush every 4-6 weeks and I suppose I am like an old student is to a teacher. (Once in awhile run into my 3rd grade teacher at the grocery store and by golly she still remembers me!)Sounds like your wife has been awesome as well. Tough when she needs to but still in touch with you when you need her to be. You have done well. Keep it up and keep us posted. Regards to the wife and boys.

    rooting for you here boss!
Kurt my thoughts go with you also, just a few months ago I traveled where you are today and I am here to tell you it is hard to remember how bad the pain and the whole post Treatment recovery blues thing. Today the tube and port are out and gone. My neck disection is completely healed and I start massage lyphedema therapy today. A far cry from radiation therapy. You've got it beat and have turned the corner, "Waiting for you here Boss"
