I was wondering if any others have experienced, as I have, blood in the urine after a biopsy of the prostate. Also, what was the extent of pain during the procedure?

    Hello my friend..

I had blood in urine after the biopsy that cleared after a couple days. As far as the pain, it was uncomfortable..but nothing terrible.

    Hope this helps.

Blood in semen lasted several weeks. The biopsy procedure was very uncomfortable, but not painful.

My urologist refused to give me local anesthetic (how typical is this?); the procedure wasn't painful but very uncomfortable.

The discomfort increased the rest of that day, however, and I had to have an orgasm that night to relieve it. What resulted was pure blood, and about twice as much blood as the fluid in a usual orgasm.

I had that discomfort for several days, and it was about two weeks till the blood went away.

Since there's a small chance of infection from the colon being pierced, I was given an antibiotic tablet to take after the procedure.

Thanks, guys, for your input. As to blood in semen, I didn't have that problem since I have ED.
