my husband will have another scope test to see if he has anymore canerous poloys in his bladder had 3 removed 3 yrs ago and at that time he was told he had a bladder the size of a beach ball and it held over 5000 cc of urine. He has been unable to urinate on his own since that time he self caths 3 times a day works a full time job and seems to cope with all this well he has been unable to get an rection for over 3 yrs and I have settled into we won't have sex and that is fine with me. My concern is this large bladder has anyone ever heard of one this size..I can't find any information on this anywhere. We don't know what the future holds for him. I am recovering fron colon cancer undergoing chemo and the stress is killing me worring about his condition developing into full blown bladder cancer..any advise on this we would really like to hear.

    the solution is much easier
the solution is much easier than you think ...have the bladder and prostrate removed (prostrate cancer is likely in 90%of men before they die )have an ileal conduit (urostomy) put in and take the appropriate meds when he wants an erection.
he can elect to have a neobladder installed (means no external bag - it's ok for people with enlarged egos) but I would NOT recommend it ..
(I have had a urostomy [external bag] for 20+ years )
If your hubby does want a neobladder ....make both of you talk with at least 2 people that have had a neobladder for at least 2 years and will honestly answer your specific questions about their daily routines. Do the same with 2 people that have had a urostomy
    for 2+ years.
In either case, it is a major abdominal surgery and he should not lift anything heavier than a coffee cup for 3 months.
Do this..... and I garantee he will enjoy life as before cancer

thank you for your responce the only problem is he is a maintance supperviser and does alot of heavy lifting and works long hours. we go back to the doctor 1-4 and we can talk about his options at that time but thank you for the advise.

If he does not respect the
If he does not respect the no lift rule ...he will likely never be able to lift anything ever again ....he cannot have it both ways ... fix it properly .....loose 3 months work now ...... or loose the ability to lift anythiing for ever.
he cannot just "tough it out" and work during the recovery period

I sounds like he is the kind of person that will lift before he should .....
so... I am sorry things will not go well

I can lift 150 lbs and i have never had any pain after 6 sugeries
