Help me, is it vaginal cancer.? Please tell me if I have the symptoms

I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have been going to the Dr. about 7/8 months. At first I was having vaginal pain, and was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. I was perscribed with antibiotics, and when that didn't work, with a vaginal cream. After the pain worsened, and I started experiencing pain during intercourse, and abdominal pain. I was perscribed with amitriptiline for pain (this is a low dose~10mg of antidepressants), the pills stopped working as well, and was perscribed 20 mg.

I saw an OB, and was given a pelvic ultrasound to check for fibrois tumors, becuase she found my uterous to be overly enlarged, and seemed to be pressing on my bladder. During this time I was having very painful bowel movements, that are so bad at times they would bring me to tears. Nothing was found, and now is suspected to be endometriosis, becuase of the pain, and I alos have prolonged menstral cycles sometimes 13/17 or even 20 days long. The Dr. has put me on birth control pills, and told me to take more fiber, and to walk about 45 min. a day (she wants me to do this for 3 months, and if the pain doesn't recede, she will do a laporoscopy, to check for endometriosis.

Today I am (was worse this morning) having extreme pain just below my tail bown, whenever I sit, as well as pain while walking walking, and extreme pain just behind my pelvic bone, that made me want to drop to my knees. I have also through all of this had very bad lower back pain....

My question is does any of this sound like symptoms of vaginal cancer? Do any of you have any suggestions?

if you like you can e-mail me at zitra@frontiernet.net

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi, I hope it's not you should seek a second opinion with an oncologist. I went to 10 gyns before mine was confirmed. Good Luck!

I had similar symptoms in 1991, except for the bowel pain. I too was put on birth control pills, only to have them ruptur a lemon size cyst on my ovary. I had to have a hysterectomy which was dome laprascopically, with minimal pain. It was the best thing I ever did. I was 40 at the time.

In January this year 2005, I was diagnosed with vaginal cancer. It was visable during my annual pap smear. The only symptom I had was spotty bleeding three months prior.

I would suggest you talk to your Dr, and get a second oppinion. Endo is very painfull and causes irregular periods.

Don't let the Doctors dismiss your pain!
I went through similar what you are going through for years. It finally got so bad I began having bleeding during intercourse. I was basically hemoraging every month for a couple of days before it would subside. I never wanted to go to the doctor because I hated it until finally I began to the pain and bleeding. I went in to explain the symptoms and it turned out that I had HPV and High grade Cervical Dysplasia. I underwent an emergency hysterectomy and they found out that like you, my uterus was twice the size it was supposed to be due to Andemyosis (tumors in the uterus caused by the endometrius shedding into the muscle of the uterus). I don't feel they ever would have found this had I not had the hysterectomy because I had these symptoms all of my adult life and had two children and no one ever said anything. Also, I was told I had bacterial infections a couple of times with my kids and they just put me on antibiotics; I have the feeling it was HPV the whole time (which is the main cause of cervical cancer) I would find a different doctor if I were you because no one should be disregarding your pain. One thing I would recomend its getting one of those md diagnosis books because the one I read was right on. I looked up bleeding and pain in the cervix and it said Tumors which was what I had. you know when something is not right in your body and you have to listen to it. Doctors can be very intimidation and sometimes I think they loose their ability to care.

    Some Important points
I think it is one of the unknown disease where cancer cells grows in vagina and vagina tube
which is connected to the vulva.
Their are the cells which is divided in the regulatory manner it is also term as malignant
    tumors.
once it is found their are some statical test which you have to go through which give
the clear idea of the stage at which it is at the same time it will also changes of
    the way of treatment.
I think both the way of treatment of vaginal cancer is the same for squamous cell cancer
also but only the combination of therapies.
