I worry when one of our friends is silent and I haven't seen Mags on a post for ages, Ron.

    I think.....
...If I remember correctly, she posted awhile ago saying she was taking the summer off from posting and retreating to her home to just relax, and she'd be back in the fall.. I do believe it was mags that said that, as Cheryl I think was taking the summer off as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hugsss!

    No internet at her cabin
She also said there is no access to the internet at her vacation cabin. I can't remember it there is not a land line or just no internet but she was to be gone all summer. Hope she's having a wonderful time. :o)

Cheryl mentioned that several people were going to be off at the theatre and she'd be doing three jobs instead of just her volunteer job. I believe she mentioned a huge theatrical production, too. I thought about her and Bridget. There's a search for the cutest dog for some contest and Bridget is a real cutie!

    here I am

Dear Ron: here I am.....how very kind of you to think of me. Yes I did take the summer off at our cabin in the woods just north of Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. The oxy treatment really kicked the stuffing out of me and I was very very glad to get away and take a break. How can 3 months pass so quickly though when you are not in treatment? I have cea's and ct scans just ahead and guess what???? nervous jumpy not sleeeping???? who me????

It's great to be back....hello and very best wishes to all

    Yep!
I just got out of the hospital about a month ago from having an obstruction, was there for 3 weeks, which postponed some chemo, but started back up on it last week, and getting ready for my 9th treatment on Wednesday! just 4 more to go, I don't know what they'll do to me next though lol...

I been feeling really good though, kids are back in school, and I actually miss having them around me helping me out here when I'm tired :(

How are you? been feeling alright?

    Hugsss!

    Thanks phil,just
Thanks phil, just hanging in. My docs seem to think that my problems are all auto-immune and stem from my original cancer and chemo. I take four blood pessure meds to try to stop protein loss thru my kidneys. Some mornings i get up and can barely raise 90/60 on my bp machine. I'm permanently on methotrexate for polyarthritis. I never had neuropathy with chemo but now I can't feel either leg from the knee down except when they are on fire and I am losing feeling in my left hand.Origanally it was dx as short fibre neuropathy then diabetic neuropathy. Although I am not diabetic I have serum insulin levels ten times normal. They have tried me on metformin ,a diabetic drug,it seems to be helping some and I have been able to lose 20 kg in the last three mos. My protein loss has dropped from over 3 gramms a day to just 260 mg a day (150 is normal) My nephrologist said that it is great but just not possible if my dx of scarred kidney filters is right. Now he suspects that i may have an immune problem called vasculitis which is causing both the neuropathy and kidney problems. He is concerned that the methotrexates effect of suppressing the immune system is going to leave me wide open to any cancer cells roaming around my system. I am having more tests than when I had cancer. Still life goes on ,I still work and next week will be packing up the 4x4 and boat and heading off for a weeks fishing. Cheers Ron.

    Maglets
I PM'ed her the day before she left for her cabin. She said she didn't feel like she fit in on the board. I told Kimby about it in hopes that she would change her mind. She will not be back until sometime in September. Everyone let her know that we are thinking of her. I really miss her too. Paula

She commented above, and wow...mags, you definitely fit this board, please don't feel like that, sometimes I feel I shouldn't be posting so much, but everyone needs support, even me, some encouragement, and you are always good at that mags, you always made me feel so welcome, there are so many new people here who really need it, and the more the merrier!
