Should my doctor hurry?

First, thanks for reading. I'm 31 years old, I have no children but would like to. I'm scared, I've been trying to find answers with no success. These are my symptoms: I've been having discharge and blood for months now and lately there is some strange pain (not to strong) that comes and goes on different areas of my abdomen including where my ovaries should be, its like it sings or I'm being poked with a tiny needle. I get really bad cramps like a week before and during my period, almost 2 weeks every month, and sometimes during intercourse. Also, I've lost like 10 pounds, I don't have appetite and when I eat I get full with 2/3 of what I would generally eat, I could spend the day without eating which is not normal for me. My clothes are too big now I weight 109 lbs now and I'm 5'7. I went to my OBGYN and ultrasounds revealed endometrium lining is 14mm thick, 1 fibroid and 6 polyps and one ovary is enlarged. I'm waiting for results on the biopsy and I'm schedule for operative hysteroscopy to remove polyps at the end of september. My doctor says she is not too worried about cancer because of my age, but that they need to rule it out.I'm leaving on a trip in a few days and won't be able to get the biopsy results until I get back in 16 days. I'm scared but I don't have anybody to talk to. I don't want my husband to worry. Maybe I'm just being a wimp but I have a bad feeling. I don't think you loose your appetite with polyps. My question is should I push my doctor to speed things up? did any of you experienced any of these symptoms? Again, thank you.

Waiting for test results is some of the hardest times. You need the biopsy results before you can really know what is going on. I don't know when the biopsy was done; it does take time for the pathologists to read it and they need adequate time to do a good job. You could call your OB Gyn's office and ask when they think the results are coming in. If you are going out of town your Doctor could call you on the cell phone with results; you will have to decide that it would be worth your peace of mind if the results are negative. If they do show cancer it may make the rest of your time off difficult. I think if your biopsy shows cancer your Gyn will probably take you to surgery sooner than the end of September.

Polyps are common and certainly not always cancer. After you make your decision call your Gyn and explain your situation. Cancer of uterus occurs more often in older women. Do you have a good friend you could call and confide in? Now is the time to find someone to talk to you; I will keep you in my prayers.

    Diane,
    I'm going on a cruise

    Diane,
I'm going on a cruise to Alaska so I think its going to be a little hard for my doctor to get in touch with me. I guess I'll give a call to my best friend and let it all out. Thank you so much Diane.

    Your biopsy
I think you made a good decision to call the Doctor and explain. Also, I know you don't want to worry your husband but at times like this I think sharing helps. Marriage is for the good and bad times too. Let us know how things turn out.
